The past few weeks hadn’t been easy. Max wasn’t even sure if it was the right thing to do, considering he hasn’t even told her anything, but she was confident that the information she had about Senan’s birthday was correct. He could have lied in the admission and the birthday there would be a fake one, but it was the next best thing, it was the only date she had, and it was good enough for her, besides, it was just a date, right? It was the thought that counted. But, before they could delve into a celebration she did have things to tell him, the fact that the explosion had caught the attention of the counsellor wasn’t good, but she only needed to wait a few more months, if she got caught doing something she shouldn’t the chances of being trapped until her eighteenth birthday were high.

She wasn’t going to worry about it, for now anyway. A small cake in hand she arrived at the house and stored it in the fridge, it had to be a surprise, a one-woman surprise but still a surprise. She opted to place the amulet on the counter before moving to the most important thing that house was missing, finishing that goddamn wall. She had started it but never really had the opportunity to finish it, especially the past days.

Starting slowly with black paint, drawing a silhouette of a large tree, underneath the branches people sitting, staring at a large body of water, perhaps a lake. That was the easy part, but maybe if she had started with the background, instead of being an idiot, that job would have taken half the time than it took. She started by trying to illustrate a sunset, which she ultimately made it work, that was being admired by the ones sitting under the tree. At the end, she just needed to fix the missing bits of black paint from the silhouettes. Clearly, she didn’t prioritize things as she should have.

Finishing the wall took her way too long, but at least it was done. Now she had to create an illusion that it was still the same old boring colour before Senan got her message to meet her at the house. There was still one last thing she had to do before he got there, she needed to clean the living room, store the paint and take a shower, she looked like she had bathed herself in paint. She left a note on the counter, making sure Senan would know where she was in case he walked into the house and she was still trying to take paint off her skin, and hop into the shower, hopefully he would be home by the time she was done.

Sturt ☆ Sixth Year ☆ Double Agent✩ Kaitore
17 year old Halfbreed Fairy ☆ HE/HIM

He had to be honest, his mind didn't even realize what day it had been. After all, his Birth was a means to infiltrate an enemies confidence, he'd been made with the intention of being a 'usable' spy in one capacity or another. If not his Mother acting in her irritating and outright manipulative ways, it would be his Father trying to reestablish a powerbase dedicated to the dark arts and the pursuit of expanding the Pure Blood agenda towards the entire Wizarding world. Spending most of the day out of the House and double checking that his wound had fully be healed through various practices and that his skill hadn't rusted away in his days of bliss and happiness.

There'd been no blame or discontent with his choice in being in a relationship but he knew he'd been slacking in his usual drills to protect that which he found. 'To think. . . I'd actually find myself not only with someone but in love. . .' If someone ever told him this would've been his outcome, he most likely would've punched them square in the face. Now. . . Now he was changing and not just in how he viewed the world or approached but how he reacted and responded to others. 'Is this for good or ill. . .?' A question that needed to be pondered, not now, of course. He'd spent far too much time away from home and the truth had been he had already begun to miss seeing Maxine's face.

Her bright chaotic nature, the way she smiled and how her eyes lit up. Not to mention the way her body had felt against his, both clothed and the absence of them. It had been time for him to pack up his training gear and head on back home, with that he left the backyard of what seemed to be a generous family home. The one that had been maintained by his older brother, Dylan, while he didn't care for him -or- the noisy woman he had taken up with. . . He had to admit that the training facilities were far better than his own.

Senan slung his bag over his shoulder, slipped his wand into the small holster that hung off of his belt and closed his jacket over it to secure it from sight. Ordinarily it would take him a while given where the location of the home had been but he opted to travel a bit in style, The Bush Telegraph system. Climbing up one of the highest and marked poles and attaching a zipline cord to it before sliding along the long lines and being snapped up inside of it in a speeding light.

Being dropped off not that far off from where he counted his 'actual' residence as. A place that had been turned around to fit as a proper and comfortable home or at the very least being worked towards it, bit by bit. He didn't even give himself time to adjust his legs, already moving to climbing down the towering pole while checking if not only all of his body parts had been there but all of the items he took with him too. Once he made it on the ground he went into a generous jog home without losing much breathe, after all, he needed to make sure his cardio had been in full swing too, right?

The sound of a key scraping against the door trying to find the punctured slit in the metal, screeching between the various tumblers and knocking them upwards until they fit the shape of the object and gently turning it until an unlocking pop echoed and the doors hinges screeched under the weight of being opened. "I'm home, Max. Sorry it took me so long." His head shaking lightly while prying the key out of the door and hanging it on a nearby hook, setting his things down by the door. "Dylan and those people kept trying to push more of their 'We're all in this together' bit. . .

Lingering at the door for a bit longer to make sure he put everything in its proper place. He wasn't prepared or even suspecting of what had awaited him further inside.

After painting the wall, she was glad she had some time to clean the pain that she had all over her face and clothes, she knew that eventually Senan was going to get home and she wanted to surprise him. Breaking into the office to look at the birthday in his file was no easy task, luckily the ring he had given her was a great help. She couldn’t imagine the trouble she would be in if they had caught her inside, probably suspension, or maybe she would be expelled…no, she couldn’t get expelled. The thought just made her rethink that what she did was most likely illegal, but at least no one knew.

The shower she was planning on taking, turned into a bubble back, one she almost fell asleep on. Paint off, bath taken she heard someone opening the front door, and for the looks of it, sounded like Senan, the protection they had around the house made it nearly impossible for anyone to try and open the front door. She opted not to call out to him as she got dressed, until she finally heard his voice. She left the room and approached him quickly, arms stretched out to him before she wrapped them around Senan for a tight and welcoming hug before her lips landed on his, stealing a kiss. Her smile grew and her eyes lit up at she looked at him.

“Do you think they are trustworthy?” it was her main concern; she trusted his judgement. She knew how suspicious he could be and looking over his shoulder constantly was exhausting. “I don’t think they mean any harm, but I don’t know how to feel about them.” She didn’t mind them, aside from the woman that came to talk to her, Cate, and Senan and her had been alone for a while now, help was precious, but it could also be their downfall.

“You know, Cate talked to me when I was in the Hospital Wing, she seemed nice and genuine. I kept you out of the conversation. I think the last thing you need is even more pressure.” She wasn’t completely certain about the reaction, but probably snitching that they were living alone wasn’t such a good idea, besides, that that was a day to enjoy themselves, while it was hard, considering their situation, they had to and once they did, Max had to go back to trying to get better, her unpredictable magic could lead to their deaths.
