Welcome to Tallygarunga, an original roleplay set in the Harry Potter universe. Set in present-day Australia, tensions are high between the Ministry of Magic and the only Ministry-run wizarding school in the country. Become like the other snooty private schools? Not a chance.

Originally established in August 2006, Tallygarunga prides itself on an inclusive and active community. Once part of the Tally family, always part of the Tally family. Whether you're here for the first time, the thousandth time, or returning after a long time---welcome home.

  1. Splotting Lee's Imaginary Friends

    Lee
Keaton's app. This here is @Keaton Harper, a sixteen almost seventeen year old student of Spencer House, currently in his sixth year. He grew up in Toorak and is the eldest and only son of Eva & Philip Harper - two well-known figures within the Australian Ministry of Magic - and as a result has a few issues when it comes to listening to people due to the nature of either being left to his own devices or lumbered upon various caretakers and tutors while he was growing up. He prefers to make his own judgement about everything around him and will prod at something, or someone, until he gets a reaction of any kind. He's quite independent. He's a chaser for the Spencer Quidditch team and has been a constant player since his third year at Tallygarunga, and Quidditch is very important to him. He takes Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, Ancient Runes, Dead & Magical Languages, Magical Law, Magical Theory & Wandless Magic as his classes and as a result can be quite busy with classes - yet will always take time away if he is able to. What he needs: Friendships of all kinds. Long-term from first beginning at Tally, passing-friendships, acquaintances... you name it and I'll consider it! Flirtation. Keaton has a certain charismatic charm to him and he knows how to use it. He isn't malicious or misleading, but he will ramp it up if he needs to get out of something quickly - so he isn't always as honest as he ought to be. It'll backfire a lot, but where would the fun be otherwise? It is also worth noting that K has never been in a relationship. He's kissed girls, sure, and messed around some but nothing serious has ever come around from it. He usually ends up putting his foot in his mouth. Dislikes/ Intense dislike, perhaps even hatred if it stretched that far - Some of this would be grand. As someone who always expects a reaction, whether it be from a prank, from a comment made at them or just from Keaton being Keaton - there's bound to be plenty in the school whom he has brushed up the wrong way. Snide and sarcastic remarks are a must, as well as jinxes, hexes...you name it! Quidditch Rivalry/Friendships - Self-explanatory If there's anything else you feel that you can offer with your characters, just throw stuff at me! I'm always willing for a good plot/mini-plot! ❤️
  2. Splotter Roar!

ThistleProse's Minions 100% stole the code from Lily! *tips hat* I am up for all kinds of plots! Just hit me up on Discord and I'll be happy to chat with you about ideas and potential mayhem! Michael Joseph Grant-Jones Profile | 27 | Single Dad, Widower | Melbourne Michael went to Tally, but fled soon after graduation when his girlfriend of several years (Penny) was midway through her pregnancy. He's had a hell of a life since then, though he has yet to share the details with anyone since his move back home to Melbourne. He has a two year old daughter that he loves dearly. I really want to get Michael out there - I need friends for him in particular, either past school friends or new friends he can make since moving to Melbourne. He is currently looking into finding a daycare for his daughter and a job for himself as he's living on the life-insurance of his husband at the moment and knows its not something that'll last indefinitely. I am a great fan of romantic plots; while I'm not planning on Michael giving his heart away anytime soon, a man has needs, but more, I would love for him to get wrapped up in a friendship that has chemistry for romance down the line! How long Michael feels the need to grieve would depend on that potential lover; there would certainly be moments where he'd fall into depression and grief, but I think that would be fantastic for developing the relationship between them, too. I absolutely love depth and drama <3 Michael is homosexual, so he'd only be interested in another man romantically. Age isn't really an issue; probably someone who is at least 22, but up to mid 30's (or possibly older) is fine. I don't have any personal issues with age gaps when it comes to romance. Friendship wise, Michael is open to men, women and all ages - young or old or in between. Looking For: Old friends, new friends, family members, rivals, enemies, a job! Not Looking For: For the time being, I'm not for looking immediate romance Name Surname Profile | age | Information | Location Details about character~ Looking For: <3 Not Looking For: </3
  3. Thoughts About Plotters

So I've always been pretty bad at making plotters. Like, to the point where I would procrastinate for several weeks before one went up for just one character, and updating with a new one would take a week at least. It's definitely gotten easier for me since I've been going through a checklist in my head for hitting certain info points for plotters. I figured I would put these up here to help others that feel like they struggle. I'm still not great with them, but at least there's improvement. There are three sections, or categories, if you will, that I consider when I'm making a plotter. Basic Info, Blurbs, and Plotting. Basic Info This covers the quick need to know info that I personally tend to look at when I am considering connections at a glance. age member group (can be left out since occupation can also explain this... but member groups on Tally also give location info as well) occupation profile link Will these characters interact at all, and if so, how will they interact. If you have two students, they are obviously peers. Two adults are also peers, but they are far more likely to interact than an adult and a teenager (unless its a teacher student thing). Occupations give other connections points as well. And finally, I love having quick access to profiles. I've never made a plotter without a link to a characters full profile since that can offer more detail than a plotter. Blurbs Character blurbs are often where I've struggled, but I have started thinking about them like being the info on the back cover of a book. Writing enough to entice people to read more and to spark ideas. I personally keep it to one, maybe two paragraphs, cause I've also linked to the character profile, so there's no need to go into too much detail here. Just cover a bit of personality, maybe some of their hobbies, and an interesting fact about the character. Plotting This is something that I've started to seriously consider, and I feel like it's helped me more. Talking about what sorts of plots you would like to do is incredibly helpful to someone reading your plotter. Has there been something that you've been wanting to do, and this one character fits it perfectly, talk about it here! If you're looking for some romance, that goes here too. Also something to consider are plots or topics that you really aren't interested in. Hopefully this means that people reading are interested in some ideas you've presented, or they have ideas of their own and you two can bounce those ideas around. In a way you've contributed some initial ideas and hopefully someone isn't sitting there saying These characters should have a thread, but I don't know what they can do. Any who, I hope this helps someone. And maybe others can contribute ideas to how they go about making plotters. What do you look for when you're looking at someone else's plotter?
