  1. Invite Tell Me Your Side

Running out to the field after the game was over was no easy task. Especially for someone as spastic and nerdy as Ethan was, carrying around a notebook, recorder, glasses case, and a pencil. Not to mention the pencil tucked behind his ear in case the first one breaks. Ethan always comes prepared. Or at least, like a freshman on their first day of class because this. This was it. His moment. This was his first interview and there was no way he was going to leave this field until he got that interview. He was not going to let his boss down. He would stay there all week, if he had to. There were delivery places nearby. They'd bring him food. Focusing back to the task at hand, Ethan used his pointy, bony elbows to shove people aside as he made his way against the crowd pushing to leave, trying to go deeper into the throng of people to try and find the players. He had to speak to Sean Rhodes, the beater, in particular. His boss had said someone with history or an obvious love of the game. Well, Sean had history with Quidditch. His whole family did. And Ethan was interested in getting to know his side of the story. He wanted to come up with a piece that was brilliant, loved by the magazine's audience, and won him an award. Or, was at least good enough for him to get another story and not get put back into glorified spell checking. Finally, finally he pushed his way through a good chunk of the crowd and it started to thin out. There. He could see the players and he saw Sean's glorious face with the rest of his teammates. Quickly making his way over, he pushed his glasses straight on his nose and then said, "Sean? Sean Rhodes? Hi, Ethan King with Quality Quidditch News. Can I get an interview?" He hoped he looked sufficiently desperate that Sean would accept because he really couldn't go back to his boss with nothing. And he really didn't want to spend the night at the field.
  2. Invite When things Just Don't Work the Way They Should

If you were to ask Sean Rhodes how he was doing, he’d say that he was fine. You’d know that he was lying, but if you tried to get more out of him, he’d just deflect. Truthfully though, Sean got better at pretending that he was alright. Day in and day out he forced a smile went about his day. He had avoided the man he loved, after his father found them making out in he locker room, and he missed him. He needed him to feel normal again. So why wasn't that possible? Why couldn't Sean be with his secret boyfriend and possibly become a not so secret boyfriend? Why did he have to care what his father thought or felt or demanded of him? He was sick of it; the constant training and expectations that he just couldn't fulfill. 'No Quidditch team would ever take you if anyone found out!' His father had yelled, about him being gay. He just... He couldn't take it anymore. He had already fallen into this deep dark bit of despair that made it nearly impossible to attend class let alone eat or have conversations. He just wanted to be happy doing what he wanted with whomever he wanted. Was that too damn much to ask for? Apparently so. For the first time in days, Sean left his dorm and made his way around the school, finding the potions closet strangely ajar. His curiosity got the better of him and he walked inside, taking a look around at the many different bottles around. Seeing one named "Dragon Poison" he picked it up, slid it in his pocket, and made his way around until he found the Flinders dormitory, hoping to see Al walk by. After a good half hour of sitting on the ground with his face red from tears, he finally pulled out the potion and drank it. Every. Last. Drop. Then Sean just sat and awaited his fate..whatever that would be.
