  1. Invite The quiet part of town

    Jo Estrada
That time was the most calm time of the day, where people had disappeared to their houses, only a few could be found on the street, a few like Jo, who preferred the night more than she preferred the day, besides, the night shift paid better and with less prying eyes meant there was a lot of things she could do without getting in trouble, or too much. She had spent a few days patrolling Narrie, but they had asked to do the same in Melbourne, she didn’t know why she was there, she had told them she had moved, but they still wanted her to work that shift in Melbourne. She didn’t argue with them, the money was useful now that the Estrada family had grown over the past couple of months, but she was confused about their choice. The night was quiet, so quiet that she took the time to sat on a bench and watch people as she put a lollipop in her mouth, she was starting to get the same habit as Dani had, sucking on a lollipop and surprisingly they weren’t as bad as she thought they were at first. The lollipops were quite tasty, no wonder Dani liked them. Jo was pleased at how it turned out, she did enjoy having the house full, but she was still upset she couldn’t turn the basement into a Jo Cave or something cool like that, maybe one day she gets to have her own dark cave, hopefully. The stillness was making her nervous, there was nothing to do, no one to hunt, where were all the criminals in that town? Even the muggle ones? She wanted to desperately tie someone to a flag post, but she couldn’t do it to an innocent bystander, the Ministry would have her head if she even tried such a thing. No, had to be a criminal, even a hooligan was enough to get her going. She got up from the bench and continued her walk, ending up in and alley, that had to be the place for some hooligans to jump her so she can hunt them down like the vermin’s that they were…but no, nothing, no one jumped her. “Shit.” She spoke in Spanish, turning around to go back to the place where she came from, maybe it wasn’t their time to leave their little holes to crawl around society?
  2. Catching up

Meeting someone from the past was a common event for Jo, especially when one spends most of their time in the place they grew up and went to school. Jo wasn’t the easiest person to get along with, not all forms of communications were easy for her; social norms were foreign to her and she tried to follow the rules that she was taught, but didn’t always go according to plan, luckily, this time things went much smoother than they normally did when she met someone from her past. She was friendly with the man, knowing him from her years in school, and she had let him off with some minor infraction in the past, after all, why wouldn’t she? It wasn’t like it was a big one. Their brief meeting led to both of them spending some quiet evening at The Tipsy Mozzie, Jo’s favourite bar in Melbourne, and the one bar where she could get free drinks, helping the son of the owner had its perks, that’s something she couldn’t deny. They apparated there, to a quiet location, away from the muggle’s prying eyes and upon reaching the bar she took a seat at a table in a corner, she sat in a position so that she could look at the door, monitoring who got in and out. Paranoia? A little bit, it came with the job of being an Auror. “So, how are things at school?” She never really had the opportunity to get into too much detail with him, her job didn’t allow her to take many days off and whenever she did, she spent the day sleeping with just playing games with the family. “And I hope you stopped trying to trick people.” She said with a light chuckle before ordering something to drink.
  3. A new reality

    Jo Estrada
After texting Ash a few times, Jo finally got prepared to take Dani to see the house and she prayed that her sister was there, Ash was a lot better at those things than she was. On the bright side Dani had agreed so maybe Jo was doing something right? Yeah that was probably it. Jo didn’t remember what happened when she was adopted, she was still too young to remember and if she wasn’t so different from Ash, maybe she wouldn’t even know she was adopted, she believed her parents only told her about the adoption because she was a Dhampir. The differences were too big not to be noticed and with age, Jo started to learn and feel things that it wasn’t normal, considering most human kids. Jo made sure they were out of the school and away from it. The social worker had a car and Jo’s motorcycle was just there. Didn’t take them too long to get to the Estrada Family house, during that time of the day they could easily get around town without being stuck in traffic. Upon arriving to the house, Jo became a bit more nervous than she should, it certainly wasn’t normal of her to do such a thing, she was always so calm. They got inside and Jo’s nervousness grew. Where the fuck was Ash? She turned to Dani and smile, leading everyone to the living room, where she finally found Ash. She could simply use her nose to know that her sister was there. Was the nervousness getting to her? Probably. “So, this is the Estrada house, that’s my sister Ashley.” Jo spoke approaching her sister and taking a deep breath, now she could start to calm down, Ash was there, Ash could help Jo, maybe, and she could also mention things that Jo might have forgotten. Jo turned to Dani and then to the social worker, who ended up waiting outside like it had done previously during the meeting. “There’s four bedrooms, an attic and a basement, oh and this floor, this is the living room, next compartment is the kitchen, both have access to the back yard…and there’s a pool…” she tried to be as accurate as she could, but that probably wasn’t what Dani wanted to hear. There were many other things that concerned the Dhampir, and bedrooms and basements and pools weren’t those things.

  5. Going as high as a kite

    Jo Estrada
There was no better time to decide to take on the challenge of going up the wall set at the Lakes, or so Jo thought, it was her day off and she wanted to do something that didn’t involve being inside, while she enjoyed it, she had enough for the next couple of weeks, the punishment had been enough to make her dislike being inside for long periods of time. However, desk work had its perks, fewer hours, knowing all about the office gossip, knowing who was entangled with who, she could listen to the radio all she wanted, and she could even improve on her Origami skills, something she couldn’t do if she was on the field. Not everything was as bad as it seemed, aside from all the rules she had to follow, or at least implied rules of civilized people, meant she couldn’t steal food from the office fridge, or food that had a label on saying to who it belonged to. The Dhampir stopped by her house to get on some sun screen, just because it was winter didn’t mean she didn’t burn, her skin was still sensitive enough to make her look like a boiled lobster at the end of the day. Getting to the lakes was the easy part, climbing would be fairly easy too assuming she wasn’t going to break anything, because if she did, Ash will never stop mocking her about the time she ripped off something from the giant wall. First things first, Jo took a walk around the location, trying to get a sense of who was there and who wasn’t. Even in her day off Jo couldn’t stop doing what she did for a living, which was making sure everything was safe. It could be an instinct thing, she didn’t like to be caught off guard or to be surprised, things could get pretty violent if it was to happen something similar. Looking up at the wall, Jo gathered all the preparations to start climbing it, she would have gone with no support but she didn’t want to call too much attention to herself, she wanted to blend in with the rest of the people. She began climbing the wall like she did that on a regular basis, the support was pretty must useless for her, but she did use it as an excuse after she pulled one of the supports for the hands accidentally and let it fall to the ground before continuing to climb the wall.
  6. Altered Reality

    Jo Estrada
It had been a bit frustrating for Jo. During her time out from field work, when she was cooped inside tending to paperwork, Jo had found a quiet place where she could do nothing without being bothered, just drinking coffee or whatever thing she fancied that day. One day she decided to hide in the archives and after digging some pretty old files she came across something interesting, something that had caught her attention and ever since then, day after day after day Jo kept going back for more and happened to stumble upon more interesting information, which was why she had decided to talk to a social worker. She had spent her morning pacing around the house, worried about what she should say, or could say. Perhaps she should ask Ash to go with her, Ash certainly knows what to say, unlike Jo, who has no idea what to do in situations like that, as she even suitable to be a foster parent? Well the social worker thought she was, besides with her background she was a perfect candidate for it. Jo was starting to suspect the social workers didn’t do much and didn’t care much about what happened to the kids, even if she was willing and able to do everything. She was sure she was going to rely on Ash’s help for almost everything and neither of them were good role models. Back at Tally, Jo missed running around that grass creating havoc with her sister, she still remembers when they had to shot her with a water spell for her to stop moving. She had to mentally tell herself to stop thinking about the past and just move to the building in order to meet the lady and the girl. In the building she walked past a vitrine with the photos of former students and players, and there she was, in the quidditch team, fun moments. Before she could tell herself to stop reminiscing about the past a sharp voice spoke, it was like being in school all over again. Jo looked at the woman who was staring at her before looking at the clock, Jo wasn’t late, yet, but the woman made her feel like she was. The young Dhampir walked swiftly and got inside the room, with the young girl and the other woman, who kept eying her like she had committed a crime. Jo had in fact committed several, but she didn’t have to know about that. The woman proceeded with the introductions of both parties and looked at Jo and at the other girl and sat on a chair, explaining again why they were all there. “Doesn’t she have a little sister?” Jo asked, turning her attention to the social worker who proceeded to blabber something incomprehensible that Jo just assumed the girl would either come later or was in class at the time. The dhampir turned her attention towards the youngest dhampir. “Hello. I’m Jo…sephine. Everyone calls me Jo.” Speaking her whole name almost sent shivers down her back.
