  1. Chloe couldn't figure out why it was that her maternal grandparents had decided to make the trip down under in the middle of June, nowhere near any break period for either her parents, herself or her student, and demand that all give them attention. They had been over for a week, having arrived the previous Sunday; Chloe had managed to avoid them for most of that period with school, training and work as an excuse, but that Saturday, she had no choice - she was forced to put up with them as her mother begrudgingly ordered her to come home from Tallygarunga for the weekend. The Sturt considered herself to be very tolerant of others in general, but in her book, her grandparents were absolutely insufferable. Her mother had told stories before about how strict and career-obsessed they were, but even her words couldn't do them any justice. Whenever the family visited Kagoshima she always made sure to drag her sister out of the house and avoid them as much as possible, but now that they had gone to her hometown instead, it proved to be too great a task. She was doomed to have her ears incessantly filled with interrogations pertaining her future, why she hadn't found a good man yet, what sort of education she intended to pursue in Muggle school (now that she thought about it, it was perhaps for the best they had no idea what magic was), how her hobbies were unbecoming of a young woman like her, so on and so forth. Near the end of the afternoon, however, she hit her limit. As dinner was served, Chloe excused herself with the pretense of feeling unwell. She was allowed to retire to her bedroom. After a gentle pet to Frost's head and an uttered apology, the girl proceeded to put her plan to action. She shoved various pillows under the sheets of her bed, so if anyone were to come in, they'd think of her as asleep. She then put on a hoodie jacket for warmth during the upcoming warm night, shoved the few clothes she had brought along with her the previous day in a backpack along with her phone and wallet, and opened the window to greet the chilly night. The sun set early as the Winter approached, and she knew that she still had a couple hours to make it back to Tallygarunga on foot before she'd be considered to violate curfew. She believed it to be more than enough time for the trek, even if she took the long way around, and perhaps she could even grab something to eat on the way. She hoisted herself up and over the window, hanging cleanly with a hand while the other held onto the backpack's strap. Her gaze met Frost's as the feline reclined in its temporary bedding for a nap - there was no point in bringing the cat along when her sister was around to watch for it, but she couldn't help being concerned over the fact he could also jump off the window she was about to leave open. Coupled with the fact that the sudden cold air would alert the inhabitants of the house that something was off, she made up her mind about alerting Lexi regarding the fact that she left. However, she had to escape first. Looking down from the first floor window, she lowered herself as much as she possibly could to minimize the length of the fall. Firstly, she threw her bag a ways away for it to fall on the grass of the backyard, mentally hoping to Merlin her phone would be in working condition afterwards. The second one to fall would be her. With her feet lightly pressed against the side of the building, she pushed herself off of it to a free fall, tucking and rolling as her body reached ground level. The slickness of the grass from earlier rain stained her clothes, and she took notice as she stood back up on her feet, her hands haphazardly cleaning off as much as she could of the greenery now on her clothes. Once she deemed it sufficient, the Sturt reached for her fallen backpack to verify the state of her mobile device - finding it in working order, she sent a text message to her sister wherein she was honest about her intentions. It didn't take Chloe too long to spot said girl coming up to the window she had just jumped over, and waved at her as it was closed. Escape successful. She doubled back around the house to ensure she wasn't spotted through windows on accident by going along the side of the dining room; as she jumped the fence and reached the street, she let out a sigh in relief in the dead of night. At least, until the following day, she could rest easy...
  2. There had finally been a break in the pouring rain and hail that pelted Narragyambie and its outskirts in that lazy Sunday afternoon - it meant Chloe finally had an opportunity to leave her home, and have a second much needed break from her grandparents' incessant admonishing chatter. She would have felt bad for leaving her sister behind, but the girl was social, unlike herself. The Sturt decided to grab Frost, as well as her backpack, and left the house under the pretense that she was headed back to the dorm early for studying. It was hardly something that her family could argue, so they let her go. It wasn't entirely a lie, but the girl couldn't help breathing out a sigh of relief the moment her feet stepped out of the house. Unsure as to if the weather would hold for long, she opted to take the short route, moving straight towards Tallygarunga Road - lest herself, as well as her pet, get soaked in the intermittent showers. The cat peeked its head from under her hoodie, as she had kept the feline there for the sake of warmth rather than carrying him on a container. Unfortunately, because of this fact, her journey wouldn't prove easy The cat spotted a small bird on the ground quickly hopping in the distance. He them promptly wiggled his way upwards in the shirt. "Frost...?" The Sturt muttered moments before the aforementioned cat jumped out of its resting place and sprinted after the fowl with a speed Chloe could never hope to match, despite being as fit as she was. Nevertheless she took off after the white animal in a vain attempt at catching it. Eventually, she was too exhausted to continue. Breathing heavily, not having expected such exertion under the Winter-like conditions to that extent, the girl ended up taking support with a hand on the side of a building, hunching over to catch her breath. The cat she had cared for was out of sight and gone. What could she do...?
  3. It's Chloe's birthday! Go pinch her cheeks.
  4. Time to steal everyone's template. Also, I prefer Discord to discuss things, but you can always answer here. Beware the long text. Feel free to come up with any type of idea not mentioned, I don't mind any sort of plots whatsoever~ Chloe Stewart Human Muggleborn Witch | 16 | Sturt | Combat Sports Monster | Model Kit Enthusiast The daughter of two local business owners - her father owning a bakery and her mother a dojo -, Chloe is a somewhat shut in Sturt who cares way more about pursuing whatever strikes her fancy rather than socialize. She has obsessive tendencies over a select few subjects, making it so her skill in each thing rose exponentially over time, and is a great tutor to boot. Her social skills leave something to be desired. Out of respect for her mother she's trying to break out of her shell, but she can't say she cares for it much. But maybe you can help! Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Jamie Collins Human Halfblood Wizard | 22 | Australian National Quidditch Team Seeker | Living Merch Machine | Former Bourke Half the product of a Muggle cartoonist and a pureblood witch whom dropped everything to be with him, Jamie is ultimately the end result of a broken household (along with his sister). While his public image - as well as what most know of him - portray him as a smack talking bad boy/ladies man, he actually prefers to keep to himself and is a rather nice individual. He hangs out in both Narrie and Melbourne, depending on the day. Maybe your nerds should meet him! Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Evelyn McCarthy-Parsons Halfbreed Veela Witch | 28 | Corrupt Auror | Former Sturt | Tea Aficionado Continuing the legacy of a famed Pureblood family with deep ties to the Ministry of Magic, Evelyn has always been one not only to meet expectations, but to exceed them in spectacular fashion. Her sheer talent is well met by her Veela blood and interpersonal capabilities, making her a well respected member of the wizarding community. However, this is all but a front to hide the true intention behind her every move - consolidate power. Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Samantha Hammond Halfbreed Veela Witch | 15 | Bourke | Cinnamon Roll | Mother Hen A very innocent yet friendly girl, she'll befriend you if you have a pulse. Bright and upbeat, she believes she exists to bring love and joy to the world, starting with you. She loves to hang out, have fun, care for people and go out on adventures with them. Unfortunately, she seems to be very susceptible to being manipulated and charmed, which might make people take advantage of her for kicks. But maybe your dorks should protect this cinnamon roll instead! Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Alex Lin Squib | 22 | Drummer | Child Caretaker | Cartoonist Say hi to Jamie Collins' twin sister, Alex. She probably won't say hi back, but please bear with her. Past the obvious daddy issues, she's not half bad. She works really hard due to perceiving herself as having a disadvantage in comparison to Jamie, and if all goes well she'll have a few beers with you instead of punching you in the face. It's a bit of a gamble, but a worthwhile one! Current Opens: Nasty Habits Fish Out of Water Current Ideas: Rachel Ryan Human Pureblood Witch | 17 | Sturt | School & Sturt Quidditch Team Beater | Resident Tsundere A victim of childhood neglect and many uprootings, Rachel doesn't have a place she can call home, or someone she can see herself be close to. The lack of attention from her parents growing up led her to think she's worthless in the grand scheme of things, and thus she isolates herself for the greater good. The most effective way she found of doing so is being a jerk to everyone she meets. Will you get through this front or will you just be another victim of her sharp tongue? Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Meadow Richards Human Pureblood Witch | 16 | Flinders | Aspiring Nurse | Sickly Meadow (or Amy, if you prefer) has a hard fought life. Sickly from the day she was born and treated as a burden by her parents ever since, she never had much happiness in her life until the point she joined Tallygarunga - which she adores. She was quick to socialize and befriend people and fit right into the academic setting - but, something is off. She looks like she's hiding something. Can your character be the first one to find out? Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Shane Robbins Human Halfblood Wizard | 22 | VMU Student | Former Bourke | Bartender Shane is a fellow known equal parts for his music skills and bad luck. Looking way older than he should be, he has problems befriending people his age outside of his friends group. He tries to stay away from the wizarding world in general due to feeling inadequate, not liking his wand too much. His mother owns a bar in Melbourne and he frequently handles it himself. Appearances aside, he's actually a pretty friendly guy if you give him the chance. Maybe you should! Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Keira Hammond Halfbreed Veela Squib | 27 | Political Pundit | Internet Sensation | Horror Buff The first of the four Hammonds of her generation, Keira never set the best of examples for her siblings, try as she might. Her chaotic mindset caused her to marry while still in school, have two children, do drugs despite having children, take on a very intensive job despite having children, divorce at the young age of 25, among other things. She is definitely hard to deal with, but she isn't harsh out of malevolence - rather, out of a need to educate others. Maybe your character can get past all that snark! Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Natasha Roberts Quarter Fae Witch | 19 | Former Flinders | Talented Baker | Dueling Teacher The daughter of an Indian Muggle and a witch, Natasha had her family be split apart when she was very young - her brothers lived in Narrie with her father, while she moved to Melbourne with her mother. She was always very sheltered and pushed harder than she'd like, but now that she's finished her studies and moved out of her mother's house rebellion is starting to sprout. Maybe you can help her with that! Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Mark Sandoval Human Halfblood Wizard | 22 | Former Flinders | Parselmouth | Nature Nerd An orphan that was taken under the wing of Whitlam Bilby's and Tallygarunga's staff, Mark never lacked parental figures despite the lack of an official relative. He doesn't know where he's from or who spawned him, but isn't too keen on finding out. A socially awkward guy whom is a bit too nice for his own good, people will find it either very easy to befriend him or step over him. Which will you do? Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Danielle Haynes Halfbreed Dhampir Witch | 16 | Bourke | Tinkerer | Hardline Pacifist This girl doesn't know what a mundane life is. She's been on the run since she was born, lost the vast majority of people she was ever close to, and was eventually exiled in Australia along with her little sister. It's widely known she's a Dhampir and she keeps mostly to herself, distrusting people and disliking open areas. She really needs someone to tell her it's okay. Will you be it? Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Lisa Knotley Human Halfblood Witch | 16 | Sturt | School & Sturt Quidditch Team Captain, Chaser | Sturt Dueling Club Captain A girl who's made some very bad decisions in her life but either doesn't seem to realize it or doesn't show it. Lisa is an orphan enrolled in Tallygarunga, and her deepest desire in this world is to be better than you - a desire she devotes every single second of her time to. Whether it be in grades, skill, looks or anything else, she refuses to give up and always pushes past her own limits. Maybe she needs someone to help her cool off. Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Amber Cross Human Halfblood Witch | 15 | Spencer | School & Spencer Quidditch Team Seeker | Pro Wrestler She's the daughter of a pro halfbreed rights couple whom perished during a lynching. She seems very proud of them and to be following in their footsteps. She has been adopted by Sibylla Townsend and now lives in Narrie. She has a deep dark secret she keeps from everyone - even if she doesn't necessarily go to great lengths to cover it in the first place. Maybe your nerd should find out about it! Current Opens: Creepy Little Bastard Current Ideas: Diana Sharpe Human Muggleborn Witch | 25 | Former Bourke | Journalist for The Mage Newspaper | Amateur Photographer If by miracle you seem to notice Diana's presence and engage her in conversation, you'll soon realize that behind the kind smile lies a shy girl with a nebulous past. She doesn't like attracting too much attention to herself (unless it's about her job) and feels nervous around new people, but fortunately is nice enough to make it so almost any engagement is pleasant. She might need some help in being more engaging, and you might just be what she needs. Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: MJ Clarke Human Halfblood Witch | 15 | Flinders | Ghost Whisperer | Bootleg MacGyver A friendless girl with a mostly undeserved reputation, MJ is the quiet type. The less waves she makes, the easier her day will be - not that she actually has the capacity to catch people's attention, or so she believes. In her past lies tragedy aplenty, but she doesn't seem to like talking about it; hell, she's not very good at the whole 'talking' endeavor in general unless she's close to whoever she's speaking to. But perhaps those who don't get fooled by the 'creepy graveyard keeper's daughter' reputation and give her a shot regardless are in for a pleasant surprise... Current Opens: My Kingdom For An Umbrella Current Ideas: Laurie Kempf Human Halfblood Witch | 15 | Spencer | Durmstrang Institute Exchange Student | Pranking God Meet Laurie, a girl hailing from the Durmstrang Institute. She hates it there. She really does. She couldn't be more relieved to be in Tallygarunga, even if it wasn't her first choice! Fresh off the boat, she's looking to explore the area, try new things, and thoroughly enjoy a level of freedom she never got to experience before - whether it is for better or worse, she doesn't care. Maybe your character can show her around town, and get a few Dark Arts lessons in exchange. Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: May Bowen Halfbreed Dhampir Witch | 26 | Former Bourke | Bounty Hunter | Walking Mystery More popular than she gives herself credit for, May is a bit of an accidental social butterfly whom isn't actually that talkative at all - she's just really good at paying attention to other people's needs, giving them advice and potentially acting in their best interest. Of course, at least until the point she thinks they're prodding at her own life too much, at which point she moves on. A heiress of a criminal family in Perth, for the longest time she's been raised to evade that title, only to make the conscious decision of keeping the family business alive, even if indirectly. It's made more than a few ripples throughout her life and has made her more wary of any kind of potential relationships from that point on. Maybe your nerd can tear at that shell! Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: Ian Travers Halfbreed Dhampir Wizard | 15 | Flinders | Martial Artist | Helping Hand May Bowen's youngest brother, Ian has been through a lot. Despite having a solid and happy upbringing back in Perth, things turned very bad, very quickly. Losing most of what was dear to him, he was sent to Narragyambie under a new identity to start anew. Taking like a fish to water to this situation while stifling his grief, Ian soon became obsessed with helping everyone - not one person has seen him with anything less than a smile on his face and a kind word to impart. But someone's niceness can only go so far, right? Maybe your character should learn how to push his buttons! Current Opens: N/A Current Ideas: If you have any other ideas, please, feel free to mention them. I'd also like to come up with previously existing interactions/possible connections to gain a steadier ground here as things start. Thanks for reading
  5. Dull. That was the one word Chloe had to describe this extravagant event she was forced to attend, at the behest of her mother. Dull. The Sturt felt so out of place in that ball it was ridiculous. Having extricated herself from her date (how on Earth had she even gotten one?), the girl decided to cool off by an open balcony. She just needed a breather. A breather she would never get because a half-Veela decided to enter her immediate vicinity, and with her went Chloe's capacity to think, as usual. She watched as another girl seemed to be taking a break - she knew her from talking a few times before from past circumstances, but nothing beyond that. Most of the time, it was just the fact Chloe's gaze darted to the Bourke involuntarily, much to her chagrin. How she hated that attraction... Taking a deep breath, she attempted to steel her nerves. The bright smile she got on sight made it quite difficult. "Hey, Chloe!" Samantha greeted the Sturt. She was all too aware of what was going on in the older girl's mind; but, for once, it didn't actually bother her. This was because she knew Chloe wouldn't do a thing about it, and she actually looked bothered by the effect the passive charm had on her. "I didn't expect to see you here. You look good!" She complimented the choice of attire - a navy dress that hugged her frame nicely, and displayed the lean musculature of the woman. Even so, it wasn't that revealing. Whoever had picked it for her definitely went for the 'give just enough to want more' look, although it was disturbing to think someone would actually think that fit the girl's vibe. "...Thanks. You too." Awkward as she was, that was one social aptitude she did have. She then stood silently, having no means of pursuing a conversation; the ball was in Samantha's court. It was perhaps for the best, the Bourke was a natural. "Did you come here on your own?" Probably not. The headshake confirmed her suspicion. "Who did you come with?" "A friend of my sister's." He had invited her for some reason. Why hadn't he invited her sister instead? She'd never know. "What about you?" "Tyson McKennis." Chloe's eyes lit up in recognition. Samantha pointed him over in the crowd inside the hall, and waved at him. "He's leaving this year, so I figured I might as well go for a last hurrah, you know? I don't know if I'll ever get the chance to dance with him at a ball like this in my life, so I have to do it tonight." Tyson McKennis. That was an interesting choice - one she herself had considered prior to being asked to the event. Perhaps it was for the best that she didn't go through with it, as it granted Samantha the opportunity to do so. It didn't bother her that much either way; if anything, she just wanted to go back to the dormitories. "I'm assuming you're not going back inside for a while. Mind if I keep you company? It's getting a bit exhausting." Samantha leaned on the balcony. Chloe didn't protest, but she couldn't help but hope Sam's magnetic presence didn't end up attracting her fans to that little spot...
  6. As with every other time as of late that Chloe had gone to train in her mother's dojo, she was practically kicked out of the building as soon as practice (and changing, thank goodness) was over. She could tell it was one of her efforts to make the teenager more social than she was - if she were to get to the dormitories much earlier, she'd have more time to socialize with fellow Sturts and even her roommate before lights out. She didn't particularly concern herself with this that much, however, walking at a leisure pace up the Tallygarunga Road. There were still a few kilometers left in her path, but she was sure she could make it back to the campus proper before curfew. Good exercise until then anyway. She briefly wondered if she should go eat something before the long path, or eat at school and spend her detour time at the local hobby shop. Once remembering her birthday was soon and her father's tradition was to shower her with supplies, however, she opted for the former. Would most likely be a healthier option regardless. Entering a nondescript Muggle café just around a corner, she ordered an orange smoothie and a small blueberry muffin. After leaving a small tip and retrieving the little bread treat, she decided to sit at a corner booth by the window of the establishment so to wait for her smoothie to be prepared. The place seemed somewhat empty. Was it new? She hadn't seen it before, as her usual go to was near the hospital. Speaking of which, she started wondering if her father would be upset over her bringing business to their direct competition...
  7. It was an early Sunday morning in Australia. The sun peeked down onto the Earth's surface past the few clouds that bothered trying to shroud it - the blistering heat was making itself known through the quiet Spring day, letting everyone know Summer was just around the corner. It served as a good warning for one Chloe Stewart, certainly, as she didn't bother to dress in her school uniform that day, nor take a jacket along - linen pants, sleeveless shirts and sandals were the way to go. Outside of a mostly empty small messenger bag, she didn't seem to carry much on her either. All she aimed to do that day was to walk home, sit at her workstation, and airbrush her figures until sundown. As she left the campus, her phone buzzed and she retrieved it from her rather large pants' pocket. It was a newsletter report of a couple brand new master grade kit reveals from across the pond, and her eyes found themselves glued to the small screen. Her pace slowed but she didn't bother looking where she was going that much as the images of assembled kits revealed themselves, and she could feel her inner child be overwhelmed with glee at the potential new toys. She wondered if she could pre-order them; regardless, the seemed to be announced to come out just before the end of the year. Maybe she could grab them on site during the break trip? Provided her parents didn't object to the detour too much, of course. It took her a few minutes to unglue her gaze from the screen - and when she did, she realized she wasn't entirely aware of where she was. "Hm?" She clicked the button on the side of the screen, shutting it down, and pocketed the device. Looking around, she realized she was still in Tallygarunga's immediate vicinity; albeit in a quite green portion of it, as if in a pronounced rift from the main road. "At least I'm not too lost..." She mumbled to herself in her native language. She felt relatively safe despite detour, and didn't think she'd turn into chyme anytime soon. As she looked around she noticed a little pathway that was more colorful than the rest of the surroundings, covered with snapdragons that really drew in attention; and it seemed to lead into a fenced cottage that looked like a Herbologist's paradise. Curiosity took precedence and her feet found themselves drawn to it, and as she got closer, she managed to make out a warning sign sitting on the fence protecting that lodging. 'DO NOT ENTER -- CARNIVOROUS PLANTS' Any person with half an ounce of self preservation would take a hint, turn tail and leave; Chloe, however, wasn't such a person. Instead her curiosity enlarged. Good thing she was minimally careful - it wasn't her first rodeo with plants of the sort, and she was aware of safety distances. Standing just inside of that memorized 'safety zone', the Sturt peered at the greenery in hopes of seeing a thing or two whose existence she was unaware of. Her concentration was such that she would be entirely oblivious to any immediate approach, or someone watching her from a distance.
  8. Every now and then Alexander found himself within the Library that didn't entirely focus on the need for studying. Considering his recently established familial tie with the Librarian he found that it was almost always for personal reasons that he visited that particular part of the school. Even more so to step into the lair and try to act as if she was as grouchy as she'd often appear to be towards others. Woe on him if he ever let it slip that the woman had a fierce caring side that could rival the rumors that spread across Tallygarunga about her sharp gaze, quick witted tongue, and the occasional drinking habit. The other reason had been that he needed his eventual 'pick-me up' dose as his body had been feeling the aches, pains, and usual withdrawal that came about from the internal magic being drained out of him bit by bit. This left him looking a bit healthier and less pale than he'd recently been even with his attempt to try and hide that kind of particular fact. As he exited the background his hands grasped at a set of books that had lingered on the counter top of the librarian's booth. Then a gentle walk towards an empty table where he'd place the books down on top of it and slip his shoulder bag just across the top of the chair as a way to claim it for his temporary seat. Written on the face of the book had been 'Alchemy: Tinctures, Elixirs, and Oddities'. He needed to brush up just a bit more on his knowledge of the various effects of medicinal mixtures that could assist with the body and those that are often claimed to be a physical and spiritual 'renewal'. This particular angle had been more of a personal interest to him rather than just a simple curiosity for the sake of knowledge. Alex started to sit down as the tip of his fingers slide along the mouth of the book and opened it up with a smooth motion, pages began to be turned until he had gotten a few sheets into it and pulled out a notebook and pen. The notebook had already been prepared and opened as if to always be ready for a quick note or idea that may pop into consideration. "Now let's see how far I can get today. . ."
