  1. Invite Where are we going? [May 15th, 2018]

The last month had been a bit hectic even for his own tastes, he liked crashing weddings as much as the next person but never to cast a spell that would put a wave of people to sleep. He to admit that was one thing that put him in a bit of a bad mood, mostly, because it reminded him of a crucial part within his life. As much as he tried to keep an optimistic front to it, it held a heavier weight on him. Which perhaps didn't help that he had recently then and even now considering the very idea that he had been trying to escape, what were he and Arti? They never classified things just. . . Happened, what they did, just happened. Not that he was complaining, she was fun and it was a good feeling and presence to have albeit the uncertainty was something he wasn't used to and even more so the constant thought of the fact it was even a present thing. Today was a primarily mild day in comparison to what the weather had been like and being near the lakeside offered up a much better breeze than being directly in the city which was comforting in its own way. A long sleeved shirt nestled on him which was covered by a light jean jacket as he stood directly at the waters edge just peering at the constantly bubbling and flowing stream that coursed through the area. As much as it had been his opposite in every way, it ironically offered a calm that gave him some time to reflect and consider the words that he needed to say and not sound like a bumbling idiot - or worse- have it fully Derrick-fied where it wouldn't even be said, it'd be entirely avoided by him with some kind of ploy. It was tough when you're the opponent to yourself where it all needed to count and you needed to stand up, there you were, slapping yourself down. His hand fished through his coat pocket to pull out his phone as his head tilted slightly, he had been waiting Arti to arrive, knowing that the place he told her to meet him at was something unorthodox to what they usually would do, where they'd usually go. Even to the point that a small little basket with picnic goods settled inside of it and its woven surface planted right next to his legs, not the best day for a picnic but who really wanted to sit in a drenching heat for that kind of stuff? Derrick leaned his head back to let his eyes gaze skyward and let out a gentle sigh - it had been a while since he actually had nerves like these that welled up within him. It seemed to stretch like a wave of heat and pressure against his skin that condensed its own form of perspiration. Like someone pressed a heavy fur coat over his entire body. "Come on, Sparky, you ain't 'fraid of nothing." A gentle whisper to himself.
  2. Invite In Living Color

Susan was quite proud, as she approached the gallery and admired what works she could see from the street. Arti had done good work, and she felt that it would be a successful venture for her. She was curious, like the people that passed by on the street, but she was able to walk in, while they had to keep going with their day. She was already exhausted from her morning classes, but then again, when was she not? She definitely could use more coffee to help clear the fog, and just walking inside, the smell from the small cafe was heavenly. She ordered a coffee, and asked if Arti was around, she was directed further inside while the man prepared her drink. "Arti?" Susan removed her sunnies and put them in her bag, pulling out a little handkerchief and patted at her forehead and the back of her neck. She had been wandering around outside for several minutes and she was cursing herself silently for forgetting to cast a minor cooling charm. It wouldn't be as effective as others, but at least she wouldn't feel like she was melting. Susan was taking her time though, to find her friend, as she was distracted by the art in the main gallery. People were working on hanging pieces still, and she kept her distance to let them work until she caught sight of her friend.
  3. Lily's Lovelies

Lily's Characters Always up for plotties and connections and threads, post below with ideas! Jez 25(?) | Actress, Princess, and Supermum | Melbourne Jez would be recognisable from her former role in Neighbours as well as a few movies, though more commonly known around Narrie as the eldest of Stu's brood of Blair kids. She's certainly gained a small brood of her own so far. She's happy-go-lucky and loves her family and making friends. Could use: friends, stalkers fans, other mums, family members (I have a Blair family tree, ask if you want to see it!), rivals, and well... any other plot ideas. Auds 25 | The Headmaster's Not-Wife (the one who really organises Tally) | Narragyambie This British-born gal came over to Narrie around 7 or so years ago, and has won the hearts of a lot of its residents since, especially in the past few years, during which she has kept the Headmaster of Tally more organised than he's ever been, not to mention she is known for throwing the best parties in town. Not surprisingly, she spends so much time organising Alan, that she doesn't go out partying or clubbing nearly as much as she used to, but she seems oddly content. Could use: friends, troublemakers, guys who're terrible choices for dating, awkward buddies, people who love fun, people who like to take advantage of others. Arti 22 | Musician & Artist | Melbourne She's been touring Europe for the past couple of years or so, but prior to that Arti was the solemn girl in Tally with the French accent, who ended up being abused by her father and was adopted by the former Deputy Headmaster and his wife. Recent years, she's come into her own as an accomplished artist, and is in the process of helping a friend set up a gallery while she works out what she would like to do next. Could use: friends, an art gallery partner, the musically or art inclined, troublemakers, a traumatic ghost from her past (ask for details if interested), and so on. Rosie 257 (license says 34) | Doctor/Healer, Non-human Support Networker | Narragyambie Rosie has settled into life in the country town over the past few years or so, and has been a reliable local doctor, as well as on call for St Ringo's. In between work, she tends to travel a bit, studying strange and obscure medical conditions. She's still hurting about the loss of her daughter, which makes her very protective of her remaining family, and she is dedicated to her support group for non-humans and making sure the same doesn't happen to others. Could use: friends, patients, other non-humans for the support network, blasts from the past, perhaps a dangerous person who doesn't like non-humans. Stu 51 | Federal Minister of Magic, Co-owner of The Drunken Roo | Narragyambie and Melbourne Since all his children have grown up and moved out of home, Stuart tends to work a lot more, so that he doesn't end up with too much time up his sleeve to wallow in the misfortunes of recent years. He also tends to concentrate more on other peoples' problems and currently provides support for his two best friends, Alan and Kate. He's been diagnosed with depression, which he keeps to himself, not wanting to worry people, and seems to have given up on the idea of dating or relationships. Could use: friends and drinking buddies, people with young kids (for when he's babysitting his grandkids), Ministry folk, a line of swooning women, old rivals (or boyfriends that he's pissed off just by being him), teens in the sports that he coaches (cricket, basketball, AFL), or people who may know his mother who manages a reserve for endangered wildlife and magical creatures (that is now owned under her son's name). Cait 36 | Counselor, DADA Professor, Psychologist, Profiler, Author | Narragyambie and Melbourne This lady's had a pretty difficult life when it comes to the people she cares about, having lost most of her family while a teenager, when things were beginning to go down at Hogwarts, living through the battle itself, and then losing her brother some years later as well, becoming the guardian of her niece. Not that anyone in her new home would know much of that, only that she's worked with the Ministry in the UK and is a bestselling author. She's friendly if perhaps a little quiet, will help someone if they look like they need it, and tends to mother younger people a bit. Could use: friends, colleagues, awkward encounters, probably to be dragged out to have fun every now and then. Cass 18 | Seventh Year student (2018), Junior Dance Instructor | Narragyambie Being the niece and charge of her aunt, she naturally had to move to Australia with her (of course, being in danger back home was another good reason to move). She's seen her own fair share of tragedy, but tries to concentrate on the positives in life, as well as the fact that she intends to be someone who will help others, like her aunt has done for years. Flirty, boisterous, fun-loving and good-natured, she tends to brighten a room when she walks in. Could use: friends, partners in mischief, victims of her wiles, bullies to antagonise, someone who really gets her. Gem 22 | VMU Student, Performer | Melbourne A single mum with an attitude, it generally depends on what the other person around her is like as to whether said 'tude is good or bad. She's pretty easy going and free-spirited, feeling like stress is for people who don't know how to enjoy what they have. She faces her problems head on and pretty bluntly. Though despite her generally relaxed nature, she has a scorching temper if someone presses the wrong button. Could use: friends, past flings, band mates (see wanteds), other mums to chill with, fellow VMU students, people who enjoy some good music.
  4. Invite Ever Danced With The Devil? [March 07, '18]

The petite brunette still wasn't entirely certain how this situation had come about, but somehow she had ended up getting all dressed up in a small black dress and heels, and blow drying her hair into a nice natural wave before applying bombshell make-up, while she was having a status 'battle' with Derrick. It had begun as simple back and forths, taunting and picking on one another. Truth be told, Arti had ended up having a really good time when they'd been thrown together by Audrey, even after being kicked out of the Japanese place. They'd grabbed some pizza, ended up talking a whole lot more, and then stole a couple of street signs because they were the Tally House names. Those same street signs were now sitting on her bookshelf as she made sure the string that held her dress up at the front was tied properly at the back of her neck, her back exposed, and a low cut front. It was a cocktail dress, something that one might wear to a wedding or some other grand event. They'd joked, but if Derrick thought that she wouldn't have the guts to crash someone's wedding, boy did he have another thing coming. Not to mention, she was even going commando, due to that challenge set forth as well, and she had to wonder if he was brave enough to really pull through. According to his last couple of texts, he was apparently going to be there any moment. Since he'd briefly visited her place after their evening hanging out, when he'd turned out to be gentlemanly enough to escort her home, then he actually would be able to apparate there now. Only Apollo was here today, the phoenix watching his charge as she prepared for whatever may or may not happen. It was the phoenix's screech that warned her of the arrival, however, and Arti smirked as she glanced in the mirror once again before turning to greet the man who was supposed to apparently whisk her away for fun. "See, did I not tell you that I was all ready to go?" Arti gave a small pose for the man, before then nodding toward her phoenix companion, "This is Apollo. He decided to adopt me while I was traveling Europe," The brightly coloured firebird meanwhile, simply glared at the man like a father who was assessing him before taking his little girl out on the town. "He is a little protective, do not mind him too much."
  5. Complete I said Take out not Date Out

The day had started out pretty well enough for him even with the STACKS of school work he needed to grade and certain documents that needed to be done every day to be filed off towards the office. That was the one thing that good old Sparky HATED about this new job opportunity, when he was travelling? He didn't nearly have as many papers coming across him unless it was a card he needed to send out. But this was a new life and a new walk so it was something to get used to even if he had been a Teacher for a couple of years. A pit of hunger growled within his stomach as he held it and looked down. "Oh hah! Looks like I'm a hungry fire elemental, aren't I?! Let's see. . . Oh, Maybe Auds is up to something. Well, she ain't got a choice now! Bwahahaha." Self-monologue's always gave him a nice little spark within his day as he pushed away from his desk at home and pulled out his phone in order to shoot Audrey a text. 'Addy~ I'm hungry. Chinese? Taiwan? I'm in the mood for rice and chicken, maybe Sushi. COME ON! Get up and at em'! Not a choice!' He could be a bit demanding when he needed to be and mostly only with friends he enjoyed having a sense of presence around them. Especially on these boring days where he still had a bunch of papers readied, he wished he was the Headmaster at times! But then again. . . Auds could get pretty scary when she wanted to and so he opted that of the two? He was the luckier one to avoid the wrath of the Brunette. At least she'd know this meet up would inspire a good and fun time like usual. Like a bunch of juveniles he haven't learned this entire time. This began his trip towards the Central Business District where he waited in front of a few select shops that all had a mutual interest in what he had wanted to shove down his throat. He narrowed an arm inwards to cross in front of himself checking the special made watch and the time. "I wonder if I caught her at a bad time? Aaaah, Oh well, who knows? It's all good, I'll make it up to her some how. She'll probably make me add extra for bossing her around. Haha." The arm shifted upwards with the opposite one to stretch out his body a bit, he could feel the tightening of the joints crunch around like a self massage. Both of his hands pressed on the lower portions of his back to bend it back slightly as he let out a happy groan of sorts. "Now lets see. . . I'll grab me up some of the rice, chicken - you know what? I'm in a Bubble tea mood too. This is going to be a pretty good snack and grab."
  6. Invite Echo of a Thousand Years Ago

There were two parts to the gallery cafe, which had been very intricately set up before opening it's doors. There was the part that was open to the public, very laid back with a shaded courtyard where people could admire sculptures of a number of artists while also sitting to enjoy a drink or some of the food that was offered, as well as the main gallery where more artwork of different styles and types could also be viewed, with a lounge that was central to the place, where people could relax and enjoy the atmosphere of light instrumental music or local bands that Arti advertised for as well. And then there was the secret part, concealed by large double glass double doors that could only be seen by those who had magic in their veins. It walked through to where the more exotic art was kept. Paintings and sculptures that moved, instruments that played themselves, and where people could view Artemisia occasionally doing some of her own work with her violin or one of the other various instruments that she played. Today, however, was a rather relaxed day, and so Arti was taking care of the bar and cafe area while the usual person who ran them went on a break for a while. She was leaned against the counter while listening to the music, her gaze on a small piece of paper that she was sketching on. Just because she could create art with music, didn't mean that she didn't enjoy using her own hands after all. She had glanced up now and then as someone entered, had served a few drinks and couple of sandwiches or slices with a warm smile, and answered some questions, but other than that it had been fairly easy going. As she heard the door open again, the young woman finished doing a part of the sketch while listening to the nearing footsteps, before then glancing up and smiling lightly. "Bonjour and welcome, how can I help you?"
  7. Complete A Little Bit Of Magic (Dec 1, '17)

Wyatt felt the keys jump from each finger before he finally had a firm grasp on the right one. After a moment of what felt like an awkward bit of silence, the familiar click was heard and a jet of cold hair went across Wyatt's face. He breathed in deep, smelling the dust of the room before entering. He bent over to grasp the guitar case and moved on in. His shoes made an echo through the chamber and he listened to them carefully. The acoustics were good. The music would sound lovely in this room. Wyatt's brown eyes took a moment to inspect the space. He spotted a few chairs, stacked neatly in one spot and a few chairs sprawled out in the open area. A dusty old desk was by the corner and slowly he walked toward it and put a hand on it, leaving a dusty hand print. He bent over the desk and blew on it, watching the dust fly into the air and a small cough came from his throat. After he adjusted himself, he put the guitar case on top of the desk with a nice loud 'thunk'. He unlocked it slowly, like a little present on Christmas day. Before he opened it however, he paused a moment to pull out his wand from inside his blazer pocket. With a flick of the wrist and a few clear words spoken a small sound emitted from the case. His fingers slowly opened the guitar case... He began pulling out a guitar. His own personal guitar, which he named Viola was held in one hand while his hand dipped into the abyss of the magic guitar case before pulling out a guitar stand. Then he started to pull more things from the case. An amplifier, a saxophone case, a clarinet case, appeared from the case like a little babushka doll. He paused a moment to breathe before he started taking out electric keyboard. He heard a loud thunk again and tried to pull it out. It stayed in it's place as he exhaled quickly and tried again. It was practically like pulling out a couch at this point. If anyone happened to pass by, Wyatt wouldn't have noticed unless they yelled out to him.
  8. Artemisia Bellerose

    Artemisia Bellerose
Artemisia was born in Melbourne on December first, only 11 months after the birth of her older sister, Demeter, and almost immediately she was showered with love from her parents who were more than happy to have had two girls, even if they were close together and Arti had been unplanned. It had only been a couple of months before her birth that they'd found out that their first daughter could not hear, which didn't affect how much they loved her at all, but had made them concerned about whether their second child would have the same problem. Within a few months though, they could tell that Arti was fine and in fact didn't sleep nearly as well as Demi always had, simply because she DID have sensitive hearing. The two girls grew up basically side by side almost as though they were twins rather than almost a year apart in age, and when Demi first began learning sign language, their parents thought it smart that Arti would learn as well, and that way their oldest would always at least have her sister to fall back on whenever things were tough in the company of other people. Everything was fine for a while, their mother worked at the Ministry in the Department of International Magical Cooperation, and their father came from old money, so they had a fairly easy lifestyle, though when they were ten they were moved to a whole other country, France, in fact, due to their mother getting a promotion to be an ambassador in Europe. Unfortunately, that was also when things began to change for the girls, quite a bit. Even though they were born to pureblood parents who come from well bred pureblood families, her sister turned out to be not only deaf but also never displayed any magical ability before the age to start magical school, something which concerned their parents greatly. There was always the feeling that their parents wanted to hide her sister while they were always proud to show off Arti and her early magical abilities, but despite being a squib, Demi was still allowed to attend magic school in the hopes that maybe it would awaken the magical blood in her, and so the girls started at Beauxbatons in the same year, so that they could be together. However, this was also when the trouble began. Naturally, Demi was picked on quite a bit because she was impeded not only in communication but in magic as well, and this led to Arti becoming very protective of her sister, to the point where she would get into a fight if someone said something mean about Demi. Over the years, people calmed down a bit, though Arti still maintained a very strong opinion about them -- she loved her sister more than anything, they'd always been close and shared their special communication, so when someone tried to come between that, Arti would snap. Many potential friends she could have had, she ended up pushing away because she didn't want Demi to feel left out of anything. Though, this also caused a slight rift between the sisters, eventually, and Demi finally requested that she go to school elsewhere in order to keep Arti from getting in trouble. It didn't quite work though, with Demi having transferred to Hogwarts, Arti became even more aggitated and restless, and it didn't take much for her to end up in a rather large fight and being expelled from Beauxbaton's. Deciding that they needed to start fresh, the girls' mother decided that they should move and for two years they tried out Ilvermorny, before Arti caused more problems there, and eventually the girls' parents decided to move back to Australia, and the girls were to go to different schools still -- although by this point it was looking less worth it for Demi to continue magical school when she wasn't showing any progress. Originally Arti was meant to go to Penrose, and Demi to Tallygarunga, however Arti threatened to punch the first Penrose brat she saw in the nose if Demi wasn't send there, so the girls were swapped around -- Arti was sent to Tallygarunga, where maybe (hopefully) she would find some people that she could befriend without worrying about her sister being in another country, and Demi might hopefully be able to discover her potential without her protective sister causing trouble for the both of them. Unfortunately, the shift back to Australia seemed to have been a snapping point for Arti's father, who began progressively abusing her whenever she was home -- usually when she argued the point or was found out having done something she shouldn't have. While things at school seemed to be going well, with the addition of the girl falling for a mute muggleborn boy in her year level, at home it became worse and worse. The breaking point was when her father found out about her boyfriend. For a week, Arti was beaten and abused and locked away in her room, only then to be given to a Pureblood man so that he could continue his bloodline. The girl barely managed to escape after one bedroom encounter, and almost died on the street before she was found and rushed to hospital. Swiftly, she was placed into foster care, moving in with the Deputy Headmaster and the Minister of Education as their foster daughter, though has had a difficult time accepting any kind of permanency there. Over the summer of 2011-2012, Arti's father was caught and jailed... and then mysteriously murdered, and with her mother and sister having fled to France, Arti was left with a large fortune and the family estate. Since then she has avoided a lot to do with her past family life, settling very gradually into life with her adoptive parents, and happy in a steady relationship with her boyfriend, Reade who proposed to her halfway through their final year of school. Naturally, she said yes, enthusiastically. Graduating with top marks in Musiciary and Transfiguration, Arti was rather happy to leave study behind her as she delved straight into the cultural hubs of Melbourne and began promoting her own art and music. She was also able to access her family's fortune and estate that she had inherited, upon turning 18. She sold the house her family had, and bought a large townhouse for herself and Reade to live in together while renting out a couple of rooms to friends of theirs as well. Though engaged to Reade, at the start of the year when Arti was offered the opportunity to travel the world with her special brand of music combined with art, it was a chance that she couldn't really pass up, and after some discussion the pair decided to have an amiable break while she was gone, rather than deal with the stress of a long-distance relationship. While Arti did go on a couple of small dates, they never went anywhere, due to ghosts from her past that still haunted her. Upon her return, the young woman is happy just to be setting up a gallery with a friend, as well as pursuing her music, while she decides what else she might like to do with her life. She hasn't heard from Reade in a long time, and so assumes that he has moved on with his life as well, and she figures she may as well see what life holds in store for her, and be ready for whatever may come.
