Mahoutokoro School of Magic, Japan - Year 1-Year6
Tallygarunga - Year 7
Has 1 cat
While Naoki is vain, he doesn't act it.
He doesn't let his grooming routine delay others, will get up very early to do it if he has plans to keep others from having to wait on him. His products are kept up and out of the way to keep from cluttering the bathroom in case someone comes to stay, and if someone messes up his hair or gets something on his clothing, he only gets angry if it was on purpose.
He's a very energetic man. Is constantly moving, singing, running his fingers through his hair or fussing with his jewelry. He has little shame, doesn't mind others hearing him singing, although he won't force it on them, of course. Will jump on a public piano and play and sing, or just play and enjoy listening to someone else sing, it's all the same to him.
Naoki is obsesed with music. Any instrument he can get his hands on, he will learn. At the moment, he knows violin and piano, with some basic guitar and is continuing to learn. He learns any song he can, in any language, although he prefers his native language and English because he finds them easier: but he loves a challenge.
He'll never admit it, but he adores cats. It's obvious that he loves them, and he talks often about his adult cat Niramu, but doesn't mention the kittens he rescued much. They get the best he can get them, and he loves them like family.
Naoki is definitely a vain man.
He spends more time than he probably should grooming, spends more of his paycheck than is reasonable on products to keep his hair shiny, to keep his skin smooth. Although he does take a fair bit of pride in the callouses on his fingers, doesn't mind them quite as much.
He's on the tall side, stands 5'8". Someone who makes sure to keep in shape, he's long and lean, broad shouldered with muscles mostly focused on his arms. Most of his length is in his legs and arms, a bit too long to be proportional, and he isn't above flaunting it. He favors t-shirts, sleeveless shirts that cling to his skin, usually plain and lacking design, a faded color that complements him. Usually these are paired with jeans, and tennis shoes, regularly dressed fairly casually, and sometimes he throws on an unzipped sweater. He has a tendency to wear necklaces, or chokers, as well as bracelets or wristbands.
His hair is well taken care of, cut to the nape of his neck, somewhere between black and brown, often dyed with blond streaks. His eyes are dark, his skin vaguely tanned, and he takes good care of it, careful when he goes out in the sun. He does enjoy tanning, on occasion, but in moderation and very, very carefully.
Naoki was born to a musical family, and his life was set ever since.
His mother taught him violin, his father piano. They were both professionals, performed for a living. Naoki, naturally, developed a love for music, but discovered that he preferred singing at a young age--although he was never allowed to stop learning to play.
He started showing Magic young, and was put into a magic school--his parents, of course, were very confused, considering they were both non-magical. But he was still their son, and so they accepted him, slowly adjusting to such a drastic change in their life.
Even in school, he continued learning music. It was a struggle, as his parents insisted he continued to study non-magical things, so he had to balance his schoolwork with the schoolwork his parents sent him, as well as what he forced onto himself. But he managed it, even if he didn't always get enough sleep.
He wasn't home enough to see his parent's relationship deteriorate. To see them argue and fight and stop performing together. So it came as a bit of a shock when his parents announced their divorce, that his father was moving back home to Australia.
And, despite his mother's best attempts, he followed his father. He loved his mother, but she had always been that little bit too severe, too focused on his studies, not on him, and he knew without his father she would be worse. Besides, he always loved a new opportunity, and he knows what Tallygarunga, what Australia, would be like?
And he loved it. He learned so much more in Tallygarunga, still talked to his mother, and graduated not long after with good grades. His mother sent him Niramu as a graduation gift, kicking off a love he'd never known he'd had; they'd never had pets before.
He'd moved into Narragyambie, and applied at the Sweet Tooth bakery. Still new, he is the newest apprentice there. Not long after applying, he found and took in the kittens.
