Maks' grin got even bigger when the girl laughed at his explanation of the fence. "Yep! I know, it sounds super funny, but Mum says I'll get better at controlling the fire as I grow up. Kat too! Oh, right, Kat's my sister, Ekaterina is her full name. She's got the fire magic just like Mum does." Maks wasn't sure if the girl knew what kind of fire magic he was talking about but, maybe if he got lucky, it would flare up again.
Just, maybe not to hurt her though. Gerry seemed nice enough.
"You used to sneak out too?" Maksim asked, curious as he looked up at the girl. "Games? Do you mean Quidditch? I love Quidditch! Do you think there's any Quidditch playing right now? Could we go watch?"
Whoops, maybe he should slow down. Or nah.
Maks decided to start with the easier question of who Papa was to Gerry, even as his blue eyes scanned the pathways, trying to decide where they ought to go. "Papa is Mr. Valentin! The Alchemy professor. Papa's gotta mark on his cheek, but he's says I'm too little to know the story yet. It's not fair really." What Maks did know was that Papa was pretty powerful, or so he heard everyone else say.
"Anyway, yeah, or I guess if we do spot him, we uh... We could totally say that you found me and were taking me to him! That way I don't get you in trouble, and I won't get into too much trouble either." Maksim grinned up at his companion. "Let's go down... that path!" He indicated one that looked like it lead towards the centre of the courtyard.
