Anything else is up to you.
Srijan Talavalakar was born in a small town near Mumbai. His father, a proper Fae, was fooling locals into believing he was an inhabitant and posing as a local minor politician; his mother, a Muggle, cared for the boy without knowledge of his future magical endowment. He lived a fairly mundane childhood, unaware of his own heritage in the earlier years of his life - that was, until the anti-halfbreed movement encroached in his hometown.
His father was ousted and vanished to save his own skin, and Srijan hasn't seen him since. In the raid upon the boy's house, there were various books whom were deemed 'trash' by the local law enforcement, but Srijan could see through them - they were various important tomes regarding the Fae heritage, culture and magic, and they were protected by such magic by that species. The Auror force was still mostly ignorant when it came to the nature of that same magic, let alone being able to detect it and dispel it, making it so the protected tomes were discarded and placed at Srijan's feet.
The boy knew he couldn't stay - if his father was implicated in something, soon so would his family. Grabbing these tomes, he left overnight, leaving his mother behind. He would later come to know she was imprisoned due to being accused to conspire with a being of another species, something she couldn't possibly defend herself against due to not knowing the slightest about the existence of magic. Srijan never inquired further due to knowing how barbaric that force tended to be and not wanting to stomach it. He lost both his parents that day, and his home, and was on his own along with the clothes on his body and the books belonging to his father.
As it turned out, there was a Squib in his mother's family tree - the boy started displaying a talent for human wizardry shortly after leaving and throughout his trip along the vast country. This discovery proved invaluable for his survival as the boy honed his craft every day, and with him being always on the move, it proved quite difficult for the Ministry to track the boy down.
He travelled across the country for many months, which turned into years, and as a teenager he finally settled down in Kolkata. Given his poverty, he soon found himself involved with local gangs which greatly benefitted from his usage of Fae magic - with the illusion of sleight of hand he quickly became a prominent member of the gang, soon carrying out less than savory deeds for the leader. It wasn't something he particularly enjoyed doing, but Srijan had learned the hard way that you had to do things you didn't like to survive sometimes over the years.
In Kolkata he became involved in martial arts, at the request of the other gang members - he proved to pack a punch due to what he had learned during his travels, but it was far too unrefined for their tastes. Judo was his art of choice and he excelled at it, something that would prove invaluable for his later years in Narragyambie.
As he reached adulthood, his name was a bit too notorious for his liking. Not only did he have the Auror force trying to track him down, but also Muggles; and, soon, word reached anti-halfbreed activists that Srijan had Fae blood in his veins. Deciding to cut his losses instead of meeting the same (hypothetical) end that his mother did, and figuring he had no honor left to defend after all that he'd done, he fabricated a new identity with his magic - Hala Patel - and departed on the first boat that would take him. It just so happened that this boat was headed to Australia.
Figuring it wouldn't have been enough to shake off the trail, as soon as he landed in Perth, the man looked into moving across the country once again. He wound up in Melbourne, but being wholly discontent with staying in a large town, he decided to move further north - to Narragyambie. Just his luck, it was a town full of wizards; but, so it seemed, it was a bit of a haven for halfbreeds. Just to make sure, Hala made sure to come across as a Muggle in all his interactions ever since, even towards his future family.
He falsified credentials in order to attain employment at the local recently opened dojo. The owner, being a Muggle, didn't know any better and it worked in his favor. Sticking to his best behavior, he blended in successfully with the populace - to the point he fell in love with a local witch whom reciprocated his affections. Despite their somewhat combustible relationship, they had three sons - Neil and Sebastian, two Squibs (much to his delight), and Natasha, a witch.
They got a divorce several years in. Then six year old Natasha was whisked away by her mother, attaining custody because of their shared wizarding heritage - which Hala figured it was for the best. His sons remained under his wing, unaware of their Fae heritage, and he taught them how to fight. Both proved to be brilliant in body and mind, and Hala had great hopes for Neil; unfortunately he met his end in a training accident, leaving Hala heartbroken.
Sebastian was all he had left; at least, until his wife remarried and moved back into town. Natasha attempted to reapproach her father, it being harder to be blocked by her mother due to the general close proximity; nevertheless, Hala believes it's a bad idea for the girl to approach him just in case he's tracked down. But does that mean he's aware of any danger looming...?
