Aneko had quite the stifling and conservative upbringing, which ultimately motivated to become an athletic daredevil in her youth. She didn't want to listen to having to grow up to please an eventual husband - she wanted to run and fight. As such, throughout her academic career, she always took on the various sports clubs at school to an obsessive extent - this gave her a great advantage when she actually started training for MMA upon graduating high school, and proved to be quite the upstart in her local division. Soon she was having fights all over the world and making a name for herself. It was during one of such tournaments that she came to Melbourne and met her husband to be. Forward as she always is, the woman immediately went after the cute baker working near her training space for the duration of her stay; they got together and she decided to relocate permanently.
Knowing her body wouldn't keep up in shape for much longer and wanting a child (without the input of her parents!), she ultimately decided to settle down in Narragyambie with her husband - this was because they both wanted to start their businesses. Blake had saved up to open his own little bakery, and she wanted to educate and fine tune tomorrow's generation of fighters. They both found cheap land in this little campus town and met success beyond their wildest dreams - to the point they're considered to be comfortably wealthy. Not soon after the move they started working towards raising a family, ending up having two daughters in quick succession.
She raised their daughters with a very traditional Japanese upbringing, along with the stark contrast of trying to get them into competitive sports. Chloe was a half-success, half-failure - she took on four separate sports over the years, although she has no drive whatsoever for competition, which drives Aneko up a wall. Her younger daughter is a tad more fragile, and even though she does her best, she's most certainly not competition material for the time being - it seems like Aneko's legacy is doomed to die along with her.
As the years went by, she's developed quite the helicopter parenting tendencies pertaining her younger daughter's safety, and her older daughter's lack of a competitive edge and social skills. She's concerned the latter won't be able to adapt herself to her surroundings and others throughout her life, and resorts to frequently setting her up in social situations without Chloe's consent to any extreme she deems necessary.
