"That's an upside in my book! To be able to do other things that won't just drop me from exhaustion? That's one of the goals." There had been plenty of goals he started to mark for himself. Some of them had been self-serving, a desire that he wanted to do that by extension seemed to help others such as playing his music or even the dream of perhaps becoming a doctor or healer. Yet, that smile she held struck at him deep within his heart and had been much more profound for him than he had been willing to believe or understand. This forged his own smile. It was an odd feeling never having someone that held a much more mature and nurturing tone about them shine towards him which tossed in a bit of confusion in himself for many reasons.

Her words spoken dug deeper inside of him and almost had him at a loss for words, almost. It was extremely generous on so many levels especially gaining a bit more of an understanding on what it meant, the choice and survival, the process. While the Acceptance was important so had been the aftermath. "I don't know what to say to that other than thank you. . . " Alex's head tilted for a moment as an alternative form of shrugging as a smirk shifted onto his face. "Eternity sounds like it'd be way too long for anyone, anyways." Living for ever letting the ages pass by? That sounds pretty cool but not something he'd want to do indefinitely at some point the future and the world needed to be shaped by the younger generation and maybe. . .Like the woman before him, He'd end up being a guide of sorts.

Strength of others had always been a fuel and through many obstacles in life it could be the driving force to push through, this too, meant that his own will wasn't so much defined as it was reinforced with others in his life. A person that has things to protect and to stand with has a stronger will to survive, desire to see those people, faces, and situations at the end of the trial.

"Three parts brave, two parts foolhardy some may even say!" Alex chuckled weakly then offered a light shrug at his own words. People would see his choice as reckless in some many ways but then again either choice was going to need to be chosen one way or another. At least this way? He chose on his terms, not on the terms of time. He had been done letting time take the wheel of his life in this aspect and now it was time for him to punch it in the face and take the wheel himself in this final stretch. "I've been preparing, step at a time. Not rushing it but enjoying life in my own way, reaching out and getting to know people and not showing fear in that step. " Those that knew him closely knew to expect death more than life though that hadn't necessarily stopped their hope of survival. They could never understand how much that lifted the weight on his shoulders, that dark impending doom wasn't as heavy as it once had been.

Theories were just that, theories, and as much as he wanted to come up with various ways to push his chances like having energy funneled into him or even using runes as a means to be a surge board for their own protection he wasn't sure of the validity of such tests.

A hand pressed and rubbed at the back of his neck as his smile dimmed lightly. "Yea, she didn't have too much of a problem admitting that it was a name just to give it to a mistake. Still have been trying to sort how I should actually feel about it." On one hand, he had his father's name, which if he was an honorable man lessened how horribly prepared Lillian had been for him. A name with no true 'meaning'. "Wait, what?" His father didn't name him either? Narrowed eyes turned away from Bethianna in confusion, the gears were turning in his head trying to figure out who could have. . .?

Crinkled paper resonated in his hears and his thoughts were snapped back into place as if it knew the answer would be scrawled into the surface of it. Once she had slid it over towards him he opened it wider into his grasp to read the contents allow for his mind to rubber band in sudden realization. "You. . . Named me?" The words alone spoke volumes on the expectation for him, a hope. The name Alexander and the correlation to conquer could only be related to the Macedonian hero, Alexander the Great. That was. . . Awkward considering he took to the short-lived warrior who fought but would have preferred not to, who fought and conquered because there was no other recourse.

"Can I like. . . Adopt you as my mom instead or something?" A fond chuckle escaped from him as he stared at the paper, his name held a meaning and he wasn't sure how  to feel even about that other than a form of fondness for the woman. She didn't need to and yet she did - something that his Mother had never done or even cared to truly consider.

"Yes. I did." it was unlike Bethianna to bother claiming credit for something as minor as this, but she felt he needed to know. That someone--however hidden--had believed from the start. That he hadn't been just thrown away and forgotten. Bethianna had spent months stalking Daryl Winfield to assess his suitability, as she had many other potential fathers for Alex. prior to his birth. She felt she had done well in choosing a man that had easily accepted Alex as his own, loved him, raised him well. It was more than his natural family had to offer. Anna had seen more than once the influence of a good father, and felt it would be invaluable in Alex's fight for life.

And she had always wanted him to live.

"Alexander, you do not need a mother." Bethianna replied softly. "And I would be no better for the task than Lillian. Your dream of a warm and loving mother is naught but a fantasy, you know this in your heart. You are past the point of needing such a figure, Lillian has missed her chance. Perhaps you will live for her to regret it. You have found others in your life capable of giving you what you need, far better than Lillian or I could ever." Anna knew herself well enough to know she was not a good maternal figure. She did have the odd child here and there, the latest being Elscia. Elscia had not been fit to carry her line.

She stood once more, this time coming around the other side of the desk and approaching Alex properly. He was precious to her, that much was clear. It seemed to be a little more than just the value that she placed on life in general, she seemed genuinely proud of him. He had overcome a lot already, but he was still ready to fight for more. Lillian was missing an incredible opportunity, Alexander was---out of many generations---one of very few she was comfortable with taking on the power.

"What you should feel is that Lillian made a choice. It was her loss. I hope you don't ever understand how she made such a choice. Or how I have made choices similar. With every year you conquer, Alexander, remember who you are now. Remember how precious life is. Value it."

"Thank you, I mean, it's a cool name. Even read up on the guy Alexander the Great a bit while I had Muggle studies in other schools. Even though his life wasn't that long I could understand that desire history recorded about his thoughts, the things he preferred to do but how it was against what he needed to do as a leader." One could say Iksander had been a war-monger but to Alex the truth had been much more simple than that, he wanted to provide safety for his people and a plentiful land that they could live off. To conquer the heaven's and the Earth  alike. "Life is my land and I plan to conquer and take it for myself." Much like his name had insisted, something that he would continue to hold dear to himself.

The experiences he had so far with the sudden changes had been reason enough to want to experience everything that life held and offered. There was so much more that he could grow to encounter and say that he had seen or done something within his own life time. Leave something behind for those that would follow those steps afterwards, to reap their own benefits from the knowledge.

Her words caused his head to tilt knowing that she was right, he didn't need a mother he was well beyond that kind of necessity no matter the kind of black pit that had been left behind. That voice never to be truly filled, ever. He had always planned to make Lillian eat her words with the largest grin on his face to prove that he made it through no matter the pain, even if, figuratively, he needed to do so with a sword within his fists he'd plan to conquer. Not literally he wouldn't know what even to do with a sword. "I'm not looking for the warm huggy happy moments. That. . . I long grew out of and Mother shattered those images from my mind the moment she opened her mouth, honestly." Perhaps a bit more blunt than he needed to be but he didn't owe the egg donor any form of respect, not anymore. "But a lot of people have mother-like figures. Not for solely the warmness, maybe the lack of that space in their life. . . It's just that you've done a lot for me. I want to respect and honor that connection, kind of like one of those. .. 'Oh hey, I have a sentimental present for you!' Won't have practicality but it isn't about being useful that makes something precious." Everything in life held a value either in use or in memory, sometimes, the memories were the strength people needed to remind them of the connections that they held to people. All the pain, all the good times, they were necessary. "Or a 'Hey, you look a bit like my girlfriend you should meet her!' Kind of deal. Which. . . If you're much like Mother. . . You probably already know that tidbit too." Hand rubbed the back of his neck a bit.

Alex found himself having an affinity for her and wasn't sure how to classify it. There was a clear fondness for other reasons but she had been gentle as one expect a healer and though there had been a degree of coldness towards Adele, that wasn't his experience, that wasn't his. . .Bond? If that was a proper thing to call whatever it was that had been there, certainly, he felt closer to her than most others in different capacity. He already had started to view her as family to him even if there were no blood ties. But knowing that someone had already set him up with the expectation to fight? That sparked a brand new fire in that fighter spirit that dwelled deep within himself.

"I don't think I'd ever learn to understand her reasons, or even if I did, I wouldn't condone them. One can understand and still be against it. Maybe she didn't want to cause pain to my father, maybe she found me useless and tossed me away. Whatever the truth is. .. It doesn't matter.  Not that particular truth anyways. Everyone makes their bed and what they create is their responsibility to eventually see it come to fruition one way or another. Either for or against them." Lillian had made him an adversary just not in the traditional way. He wasn't looking for her approval, he wasn't looking to be apart of her grand designed plan, he had been intent on showing her first that he could survive then solve his problem of still leaking energy which would in addition help future Male's. But. . .Most importantly? He didn't want anymore of his family to be tools by her, he didn't want those like himself and Caleb to be consider 'easily forgotten'.

"I will remember, I have. . . People that help me to remember that I will always keep close to me. Those that are expecting a life with me even if it's brief for them. Like my girlfriend Cass, and I have no doubt Adele will need me someone had to keep her from some of her terribad decisions in life! And I promised Caleb that I'd live to every single one of his birthdays, can't let the little guy down!" Yea, there were a lot of people that were placing a hope of being a conqueror into him and they weren't going to take any other answer other than survival. His mind wandered off towards his true father, Darryl.

"Life is cold, cruel, it knows no kindness and often makes us pay in costly ways. . . But it's what we do and make of it that turns those moments into a zest and fondness. There's much I need to understand and I plan to do just that."

"I have done for you as I was made to do," Bethianna replied. Maternal instinct among their kind was in short supply, Bethianna was not foolish enough to think that she carried out the role well at all. Her fondness for Alexander was unexpected, even to her, and perhaps she had gone a little further in ensuring his happiness and safety than she might have gone for others. There were reasons. Bethianna didn't want to think about them, but they did exist. Still, the manner in which she had watched over and protected Alexander was also in line with her overall task, which helped to justify the extra effort.

"Our kind were made, not to rule civilisations, but to guide them." She had said this before, but it bore repeating. "We are the Teacher, the Healer, the Warrior, the Artist, the Inventor and the Watcher. Should you live beyond your natural life, your task will call you. Until then, experience your first life as those around you. You'll have many years ahead to be what you are, and to do what you must."

It was a luxury that hadn't been afforded to Bethianna, but her situation had also been different. The shadowy memories of her first days made it all the more important to her that the succeeding generations should live as people first, and tools of humanity second. It was not a kind or easy life, and though she was not impressed by Lillian's methods, the logic always seemed to be there. However tangential. She knew the Flora situation had not gone as Lillian had planned either, and that was a worry. The girl, with both impetuous youth and centennial bitterness, had become a wildcard to both of them.

There was another shift in Bethianna's expression at the mention of Caleb, another note of fondness?

"Look after young Calebrien," she said. "He does not understand why his sisters are seen by his grandmother, and yet he is invisible. He is not as we are, and I have nothing of use to teach him---but he has an attachment to you. It is not too late for him to find the love and acceptance he needs to avoid the path of Aellra and Ruella."

It seemed as if she had been focused on the fact it had been apart of her duty, the calling that was asked of her as a guiding hand for mankind. Which he understood given that the mindset of how they viewed had been marginally different. In both years and exposure that shaped the moment for them and the way that perhaps Bethianna saw much farther along the scale of the timeline than he did, which was an ironic thought to him. Not that he could see much with the clouded images that were involved in his dreams. Though something on the inside told him it also was just a bit more than simply her doing what she was expected to do, she went through lengths she didn't need to even if it were just enough that she stayed hidden in the shadows, sort of. The intimacy came with her showing up in person, something Lillian never did. Maybe that had been where his mind honed in on knowing that even if she didn't say a thing she was there

"So, what, eventually as the years peel away - if I push by the years where my view of the world would start to change more towards a mandate that I will be guided to a 'path' that suits me to assist with being a guide?" The question that dawned on his mind had been how did they guide? Was that why they held children to see which ones would grow and survive? That held the fortitude to be that presence for history and its course to flow? "The Judgement Tarot card. . ." It was a card that represented totality, a place in the world where one would find their true calling or inspiration. "Oh, you don't need to worry about that! I am planning to taste the fruits of this world and life and see what it has to offer. Already know I want to be a Doctor so that's a plus and will still work on my music and travel, see what's out there and what I can learn about the past." Answers were always in the past and around them.

He wasn't sure the true course of Lillian's purpose but there had also been the point that he'd hoped never to be in a position to condone it. The young girl who had been claimed as a 'Bastardization' crossed his mind with a narrowed gaze in thought, what was the purpose of her? Why send her to the family dinner, for example, the underlying effect she was looking to inflict and guide everyone towards?

Eyes caught the shift of Bethianna's expression once more when Caleb had been brought up, he had never heard the young boy's formal name until now. "Hehe, of course I'll look after him. He's a sharp kiddo and has a lot to offer. He's closed off from a lot of them which. . . Is to be expected. You can tell he feels he's in Lauren's shadow which I suppose isn't a lie either." To some degree he had to compete with the girl who had be lost, the grief that stayed with a mother who couldn't forgive herself, the presence of knowing his Grandmother holds no care for him and only focuses on the others, the girls. "Aellra and Ruella. . .? Oh, right, Améa and Adele. Things I need to get used to. I don't know what I can do for them but I think part of my reason for being able to push this far has been to make sure they all don't find themselves crashing and burning.

They had gotten themselves wrapped up in something that proceeded him and he wasn't sure entirely where he could be of any assistance. Especially with the fact Améa didn't exactly approve of him. "I accept all of my family, well, almost all. Mother isn't really on that list but I adore my sister and what she has started as her line greatly. I'll help them out when their path is a bit shaky. They're older but. . . Much like Caleb, I understand that one is forced to mature in themselves earlier in life to deal with the face of death at the door.  It changes you in a way when the certainty is truthfully real." From what he understood even if the Women struggled and chose to be in that pain their choice? Wasn't going to kill them. That was the true line drawn.

"When you have lived enough, you will find yourself able to step back and find your place in the wider picture." Bethianna reassured him. That was something Lillian often forgot. They weren't born knowing. Though they knew more than the average child, they could not possibly possess the knowledge and broad view that they had gathered over years. Each would figure out where they belonged, some were simply more suited to some tasks than others and that was already beginning to show---but it was too early to place them in their roles.

"Aellra's path is especially difficult." Bethianna murmured, though did not elaborate on how. "And Ruella has much growing to do. Both have hurts that must heal, both have made choices they do not live well with." Whether Alex could help with that or not, Bethianna didn't really care. Both had made their own destructive choices and would have to live with the fall-out. She could only be sympathetic to so many fool decisions. Her fondness for Alexander was as much based in the fact that he hadn't done anything she yet considered idiotic as it was in anything else.

Yet, she felt the most annoying urge to defend Lillian too.

"Your mother will never be what you dreamed," she said. "There is no excuse for her treatment of you, only context that may improve understanding. She has had ample years to learn differently, to observe and to practice motherhood if she was so insistent on children. She did not experience it for herself. She was not ever a child as you were, she was not ever in a family as you would understand it. She is and always has been a product of her purpose. You live a natural life as human first, she never did. Your mother never was human, Alexander. Not even in part."

Which made Lillian vastly different to Adele, Améa, and the rest of them. They had all been born halfbreeds, and though the blood had burned the rest away---mortality left a scar as a reminder that not everything was eternal. Lillian had never truly connected with the world because she'd never been part of it in the way that they were.

"I tell you this so that you realise she will not be changed. Lillian is as she is. If you find some way to connect with her, as you have connected with Aellra and her kin, it will be a near miracle. Even to her lover she is the master of a game in which he is only a playing piece."

That made an odd kind of sense - it seemed logical almost too logical now that he thought about it. Did it mean that at some point he'd get 'Sick of it'? At what point would he decide that it was 'Long enough' for him that he'd need to retreat and guide the world in a different manner? These were all pertinent questions and yet none of them were the time for him to truly consider them. In time he knew that they would be answered and the truth of them would only be revealed to him by himself at least that had been the general idea that he gained from Bethianna. "I get you. . . It's two lives that people like us live. The start of it where we can experience what the world can give us and then if we managed to push through we then experience what we can then give the world.

Her path had been difficult? It seemed Adele and Améa have had choices that were harshly made in their lives, something that by the tone still stuck with them as a consequence for such actions. "I can't imagine the kind of stuff they've chosen to go through in their life but. . . I guess knowing isn't entirely up to me to decide." No, those hurts and the pains they needed to be revealed by those that carried them. That can be the only way he can truly help them, if that on some level subconsciously they wanted that kind of help. Patching up the scars wouldn't keep them from hurting but being able to deal with it in grace was preferred Alex imagined.

He had to learn from these choices as well as to not repeat them but also not to let -them- repeat those very choices. But he had been caught off guard by the way she brought up Lillian - was she. . . Defending the woman? The expression of being caught off guard by it had been written on his face.

What had been stated about Lillian never being what he dreamed he knew - that was something that shattered a while ago and he had no hope of seeing that and even the idea that she could be 'changed' had been wavering of late. Bethianna's words only cemented that it was more than a simple mountainous task. "Never human? Hrm. . ." The edges of his fingers rubbed at his forehead as he processed the information. The headache came in when his mind had started to think maybe he had been unjustly treating the woman in too much of a wrong way? Is it her fault she was born as she was? Developed with intention in mind and not truly affection? Then again it'd also explain Bethianna's own stance a bit more which meant she was of the same situation.

"That must be hurtful on its own level to him. At least if he truly loves her. Even with her stance on that emotion being. . . Much less than favorable." Arms crossed against his chest trying to find how he needed to truly react towards her now, there had needed to be a reevaluation but he knew one thing and it was that he shouldn't let her off the hook for being a poor mother. Being unable to act as such didn't deem it a proper excuse when she had time to learn, to understand, to take advantage in the hopes of building and not the hope of controlling. "I don't even know if I want to connect with her these days and yet. . . In light of all this I am not even sure what my answer or personal response to her should be. It isn't something I will decide in the moment - Time. Time will need to be decider.

He knew enough about Lillian, at least what she had revealed back at the hospital room that there had been a sense of affection-like that existed in the woman. But it didn't truly 'rule' her as it did for himself, Adele and the others. "But I understand. . . Not every endeavor is simple yet I also wasn't born under the simplest of circumstances what so ever. If I do find that connecting with her is worth it then I will do it with the same intention of conquering as I do to satisfy the need and want to live. But I also didn't expect her to change. I don't even expect her to be a mother to me, not any more.

Then something caught his mind in remembering his Mother and it was a small brief incident but something that looking at Bethianna begged a question. "I have been wondering in the back of my mind. . . Mother was surprised that someone with some Fae nature in them came to my assistance when my Father passed away.  Why? Is it something strange or is it just because it's a piece she hadn't intended to show up?"

That seemed at least acceptable to Bethianna. She knew she couldn't convince the boy that Lillian was a lost cause, it was beyond his comprehension. And maybe that was a good thing. So far, Alex's hard-headed optimism had pushed him through when the odds were stacked against him, and there was a minute possibility that Lillian would develop a little humanity from him. Bethianna paused here, because it wasn't her place to show the scars of others---but there was more that perhaps he was entitled to know. In order to make a fair judgement. Lillian would not tell him, because that would require revealing something of herself.

"She has had sons before," Bethianna added. "And watched each one consumed in his fight to live. She has had daughters, successfully accepted, who chose to cease--or who were taken from her. She has watched centuries take those she cared for away in old age, she was never human---but she was not always this distant. Her way will always be different, her methods those of the chess master rather than the pawn. Once, we thought her fondness for mortals a weakness. We were right. It has scarred her deeply, Alexander."

Which Bethianna could understand, but she also hadn't been foolish enough to involve herself too deeply in human connections. She had her favourites, and she would be shattered to lose them---in the same way a doctor was pained to lose a patient.Tragic, but a hazard of the job. Much as Bethianna would fight to keep them alive, it was unlikely that she would become overly emotional at their death. Lillian protected what was hers for fear of that pain. Bethianna never allowed it to be a factor.

"I could not say why your Cassandra amused her so. Perhaps as simple as her resemblance to myself, though we share only physical similarities and our lack of human blood, the rest is vastly different." Bethianna shrugged. "She was never well fond of the Fae, though Rheldor was enchanted by them. Something you share with your father, in spite of never knowing each other, likely something Lillian would find amusing."

Without his hard-headed optimism and perhaps even more foolhardy belief that things could potentially changed he'd have been in a larger rut than now. Perhaps even worse than the choices Adele and Améa had made whatever those may have been. One fact did remain within him though and that was every being held the potential of change and though it depended on the degrees person to person it meant that it was still possible even if slim. What he had not expected had been Bethianna's much more detailed intimacy of what Lillian had gone through, another part of her that he had already knew the woman wouldn't divulge.

It was enough to make his teeth nip at his lower lip. What did she have to go and tell him that? No, he knew, her intention so far had always been in his minds best interest to make the most informed decision. It was almost as if she didn't like the idea of an unknown black screen when a person needed to make a defining choice within themselves, that they needed to understand the whole picture and not one that they were forced to see either by themselves or by others. "I expected but . . ." A hand weaved through his hair trying to find the right words and his right state of mind to approach it all. "Scars, they never heal. But even with them on her there is always the chance she can get strength versus ignoring it as if it doesn't exist." The way of ignoring things never worked for anyone, it festered, eventually? It'd eat at Lillian. As much as he had grown to dislike her treatment, as much as he disliked the way she chose to operate. . . He would not want that kind of infestation to be inflicted on even his worse enemy let alone his own mother. The truth had been? He didn't wish her harm.

"Because she isn't human. . . Loss won't process for her as it is supposed to for us, will it?" Loss, it happened in life of mortals. It was intended and not just because time had been up and a new cycle needed to begin to keep a balance but also because others needed to learn to garner strength and move on. Loss was a fear that was meant to let people know to have strength and push on without those people but honoring them. The irony hadn't escaped him that Lillian's family wanted her around in their own way, if she'd change her view or even be more accepting that they would show her love and care even in the midst of the pain that'd follow from the potential losses. That was what family had been for. "I don't excuse her or forgive her for the choice she's made involving myself and definitely not for how she treats Caleb. But understanding her reason a bit better. . . Maybe I can help her out a bit too." That was the nature of Alex, the nature to help others - maybe much more of a healer than he would have ever considered and yet here he was.

"Haha, yea, Cassy is a bit of an exciting fireball too." Bethianna? Not so much. It was like literal night and day. It was enough to make him chuckle a bit in amusement. "Eh? Well I mean I've never met a Fae just someone who has some blood. Not sure how much. . ." Had he? Now that he thought about it Cass never really did go into much detail on how much of a Fae she had been but he had no reason to believe she was more than what they expected. "It seems like I have -a lot- of traits from him and I haven't even met the man. Haha, I guess it's true what they say? Sometimes you get a bit more of your parents than you believe even without them around." A slight shrug formed afterwards from him not displeased by it.

Another question beckoned in his mind and to be honest this was much more personal perhaps even selfish on some level. "So, I'll end up seeing you again more often, right?" It was like he had been a child reverted to looking forward to that 'Special Aunt' that would show up. "I mean I know you said the rest of you all believed a fondness for mortals is a weakness and all but. . . I gotta say I'm pretty fond of you!" He was more of an open book than most people and found no reason to hide most things about himself. Least of all how he felt about things. "I mean after the whole Acceptance too, if it all pans out on the positive side."

Bethianna was certainly amused by the boy. He had a way of looking at the world that was so fresh, and positive.

"New scars build on old scars, and we grow ever-more hardened," she acknowledged. Loss was difficult even for the short-lived, when your life spanned centuries it took on a whole new meaning. Some became numbed to it, and bored by the procession of life and death as it marched by. Others were broken by it. Bethianna was never quite sure where along that scale Lillian was, she somehow managed to be both. Or perhaps pretending to the first, hiding the second. As for herself, she knew she leaned more toward the cold and clinical acceptance of death as a consequence of life.

But for her, maybe it was different. She was a healer too, and so frequently confronted with life and death situations that she took it all in stride. It was part of the job.

At Alex's mention of "some" fae blood, Anna quirked an eyebrow. But these things were not hers to reveal, and so she said nothing more on the subject. If the boy was meant to find out, he would. It sounded very much like the girl did not know either. But still, not her place to interfere.

"Perhaps," she said as he expressed his fondness for her. It was an odd feeling to hear him say it. While Anna was not as unpopular with Lei and Améa as she was with Adele, they still had their peculiar ways. Améa was not an affectionate child, and Lei -- for all her childlike sweetness -- still carried that very Lillian-esque air of knowing too much. There was no pretense in Alex. He simply was. And he was so much like Rheldor.

"I doubt this world is done with you yet, Alexander," she said after a moment. "For it is clear you are not done with it."

Alex refused to let the recent experiences and the knowledge that had been revealed to be the sole defining factor for the state of his mind. It was just one consideration amongst all the others. Much more weight, surely as expected but he wasn't going to change the way he saw things cognitively.

The difficulties surmounted which often made it difficult to get through had always been the scars and at a certain point with longevity jaded became something else entirely that morphed the word and the world. Those with a truly finite life could appreciate the cycle of life and death by trying to leave something behind but he could understand others more long lived would have a much more 'I am sick of this' attitude if they weren't already distant from the start of it all from the knowledge of longevity. "The consequence of living too long, yea? I can understand why the choice to want to die and fade away is there for our people then." That sounded odd to say and then his head shook almost to clarify but more so for his own mind to comprehend better. "It's like a twisted balance, eventually the trials of the world will weigh on everyone and become too crushing the more people connect to multiple others in their lifetime from all the losses and separations. Hrm... But I guess the same can be stated of isolationists because everyone needs some kind of social activity. Get's boring being on your own." That last part was spoken more out of experience than theory.

A shrug flowed through figuring that it wasn't the time of his life to be a scholar of philosophy of that level just yet. He started to wonder what wounds truly laid on Bethianna herself to be drastically different to his Mother. That was probably a thought he'd expect to get chided for as none of his business and so he sealed it up, for now.

The quirk of her eyebrow after his words made his eyes squint in suspicion was he wrong. . .? At any rate there was just too much going on with him now to delve deeper into thought especially with this current revelation of the circumstances towards his birth and situation in life. He hadn't considered how vastly different he had been in comparison to everyone else when it came to the way that his personality reflect and perhaps that had to do with not being raised around the others. There was this odd coldness that resided in the family that much he knew but it wasn't a sense of malicious just more of a keeping people at bay, which wasn't his style at all. "Perhaps isn't a no. That means it's good probability."

Gentle chuckling escaped from him. "Done?" He began to sigh gently a smile grew on his face that was more of one someone would see if a challenge was initiated by a willing person. "I'm only getting started. This world has no idea what kind of person it has unleashed on it but I plan to make it know one way or another."
